Project Smash just released yet another update, and it added a new fighting style, as one would expect whenever a patch rolls out. In this latest one, we have the Alien, which has some pretty hard hitting moves and seemingly lots of crowd control. Here is a quick guide on how to get it, what it can do, and how you can string together its abilities in a combo!

Complete Alien Guide & Combo

The Alien can be acquired at the lobby for a total of $27,000. With that price, it is now the most expensive character in the game right now, as is the case with any new release.

Its regular attacks have a very smooth and flashy animation, and they look incredibly impactful whenever you hit another player. As for the abilities, here is a list of what they are and their effects:

  • Helix Rush (Move 1) – Your character will charge forward and deliver a devastating uppercut, which deals 16% damage and knocks your target way up into the air.
  • Maximum Output (Move 2) – Upon casting this, you will summon a giant orb of energy that will circle around overhead and suck in nearby enemies. After a brief moment, the orb is then chucked into the ground, dealing 11% damage and bouncing affected targets up.
  • Momentum Shift (Move 3) – Pulls the target enemy towards you. This move barely deals any damage and is mainly used as a way to get your opponents within range for your other abilities or basic attacks.
  • Psionic Burst (Move 4) – This ability is the polar opposite of the previous one, as it knocks your target away. Funnily enough, it deals the same amount of damage as Momentum Shift.

As you can see, these moves all synergize with one another as long as you use the pulls and knockbacks in an order that makes sense. For example, if you hit a Psionic Burst, the next logical step is going to be Momentum Shift.

Your weakness will be the lack of mobility, as all your moves are purely offensive. There is a bit of movement with Helix Rush, but it is just a very short range dash, so it hardly counts as a mobility option.

Some Combos to Try Out

The Alien has a very versatile and easy to use move set that allows you to effortlessly experiment with various combinations. If you need some suggestions, you can try some variations like the combos listed below:

  • Easy Combo: 3x basic attacks -> Psionic Burst -> Helix Rush -> Maximum Output -> Momentum Shift -> 3x basic attacks
  • Medium Combo: 3x basic attacks -> down slam extender -> 3x basic attacks -> Psionic Burst -> Maximum Output -> 3x basic attacks -> Helix Rush -> 3x basic attacks -> Momentum Shift
  • Hard Combo: 3x basic attacks -> Momentum Shift -> 3x basic attacks -> down slam -> 3x basic attacks -> Psionic Burst -> Maximum Output -> 3x basic attacks -> REPEAT starting from Momentum Shift.

Again, these are just examples that you can try. There are many more ways you can weave these abilities together with your normal M1 attacks. If you really wanted to, simply casting skills one through four in order will still work fine.

And those are all of the advice that we can give you with regards to the new Alien fighting style. Overall, it is incredibly simple and straightforward, which works in its favor as that makes figuring out combos a breeze compared to the more complex classes.

If you are looking for something that is a little more complicated, check out our guide on how to play as the Reaper in Project Smash. It has a much higher skill ceiling compared to this class, which may or may not be something that appeals to you.
