Just surviving through the morning in Residence Massacre is already pretty challenging. What more if you want to get a badge? In this guide, I’ll show you how you can have an easier time acquiring the Spirit Helper badge in the game. Let’s jump right into it!

Complete Spirit Helper Guide

Here is everything you’ll need to know before you take your run. I’ll provide all the important details, as well as tips and tricks on how you can survive the game.

How to Gain and Lose Sanity

First off, you’ll have to know that there are two ways to gain Sanity. Every time the monster leaves, you’ll want to use them as fast and efficient as you can.

  • The Bear gives off instant Sanity.
  • Meanwhile, the Light gives a constant increase in Sanity but breaks if you leave it on for too long.

In order to avoid breaking the Light, turn it on for around 3 seconds, then turn it off and back on again. You can try doing more than 3 seconds, but it’s a bit risky.

Now, you’ll have to know about Sanity Hazards as well, which will decrease your Sanity. You wouldn’t want to miss out on these or else your Sanity will continuously deplete.

  • The Alarm goes off every 25 seconds or so and drains your Sanity while active. With that said, you must turn it off as quickly as possible.
    • Not only that, but it also makes a loud noise which makes it hard to hear sound cues, which I’ll talk about later in the guide.
  • Next up, the Closet, which drains your Sanity when you hear a rattling sound inside of it. However, when you hear the noise, wait until you have to hide and if the noise continues, then check the closet.
    • If the noise stops once you hide, then it means that the monster was inside and is now gone.
  • Opened Doors also decrease your Sanity. They will stay open when the monster attacks through them. When you stop hiding, keep in mind to always close them.

Monster Phases

The monster can come from 3 different locations, the Door, Window and the Vent. Moreover, each location has 3 monster phases, which are One hand, Two hands and then Face.

Once the Face appears, count to 5 seconds, and then hide. Remember, you’ll have to make every second count, gain sanity and remove hazards before you run out of time.

Sound Cues

The monster will make a sound cue every time he leaves a location. The most audible one is the Vent and the Door, while the Window is the hardest to hear, especially when the Alarm is going off.

You should also keep in mind that you can instantly exit from under the bed the moment you hear the leaving cue.

With that said, it’s important to play the game will clear audio, as you’ll have to pay close attention to the sounds in order to make quick decisions.
