Resident Evil 4 Remake: All Merchant Requests | Separate Ways DLC

Thanks for the help, stranger.

Resident Evil 4 Remake has received a new update, as well as a new DLC called Separate Ways. If you’ve never played the original Resident Evil 4, Separate Ways is essentially Ada’s side of the game that showed things that would later explain why Ada was there and how she was helping Leon and Ashley.

In the Resident Evil 4 Remake of Separate Ways, some new things are added that would help spice up the game, and that is the inclusion of the Merchant Requests that were in Leon’s story. In this guide, I will show you how you can complete all of the Merchant Requests in Separate Ways.

All Merchant Requests

There are a total of 7 Merchant Requests that you can do in Separate Ways. Each of these requests takes place throughout the 7 chapters in the DLC.

Here are the Merchant Requests that you need to complete if you want to get some extra special items from the Merchant:

  1. Blue Medallions 1 (Chapter 2)
  2. Jacket of All Trades (Chapter 3)
  3. Blue Medallions 2 (Chapter 4)
  4. Lord of the Waterway (Chapter 5)
  5. Bug Buster 1 (Chapter 5)
  6. Ornate Beetles (Chapter 6)
  7. Bug Buster 2 (Chapter 6)

Blue Medallions 1

When you reach the part of the chapter where you will need to open the door that’s locked by a puzzle, you will find the first Merchant Request called Blue Medallions 1. You are tasked to shoot down 4 blue medallions that are scattered around the area.

The first one can be found when you are standing in front of the door. Turn around and you will find the first blue medallion hanging by the catwalk.

After shooting the first blue medallion, grapple to the catwalk and continue until you find the Merchant Request.

Make sure to get this as it will show the locations of where the blue medallions are. After reading the request, look up ahead and you will find the second blue medallion hanging on the rocks.

After shooting the second medallion, turn around and you will find the third blue medallion hanging off a cliff.

Bear in mind that some of these medallions are hard to hit unless you use a sniper rifle. But if you’re confident in your aim, then your pistol will be enough to take them down.

The last blue medallion can be found if you look down from the catwalk. It will be hanging on a broken catwalk that you won’t be able to reach, so just shoot it down from where you are.

After destroying the last medallion, simply head to the Merchant and talk to him to complete the request.

Jacket of All Trades

In Chapter 3, you will find yourself back in the area where Leon and Luis were held captive before they escaped. When Leon wakes up, you will notice that he doesn’t have his very expensive jacket anymore. That’s because one of the Ganados took it off his body and started wearing it.

In Separate Ways, there is a Merchant Request called Jacket of All Trades that requires you to get Leon’s jacket off the Ganado and sell it to the Merchant. This one is easy to do.

When you are following the footsteps to where Luis was being held captive, you will come across the Ganado wearing Leon’s jacket.

Simply stealth kill him (if you have a knife) and take the jacket off his body to sell it to the Merchant.

Blue Medallions 2

In Chapter 4, you will find yourself back inside the castle. When you make it to the Courtyard, you will find another Merchant Request that needs you to take down another set of blue medallions.

They are scattered all over the Courtyard. You can find a blue medallion on this tower that’s in the corner of the Courtyard.

You can find another blue medallion hanging on the side of the building where Leon and Ashley go in after unlocking the gate that blocks them from leaving the Courtyard.

There is another blue medallion that is hanging in front of the hole in the wall above the Courtyard.

When you enter the Courtyard, keep going until you go through the underpass. Turn around and look up and you should see the blue medallion.

The last blue medallion can be found in the dog cage, which is right next to the entrance of the footbridge. After destroying the last medallion, look for the Merchant and talk to him to complete the request.

Lord of the Waterway

In Chapter 5, there is a Merchant Request called the Lord of the Waterway. In this, you will be hunting for a large fish that is located in the water in Gregorio’s Waterway.

To hunt the fish, you will first need to lower the water that’s flooding the waterway. Once the water has been lowered, you will be able to go down and hunt for the fish.

Once on the lower levels of the waterway, head to this area that has a ton of nests around the entrance.

The Lord of the Waterway can be anywhere around the map. As it will be swimming around, the location is random. Make sure to check every nook and cranny.

Use your knife to attack and kill the fish to save ammo. Once you have the fish, go back to the Merchant and sell the Lord of the Waterway to him to complete the request.

Bug Buster 1

In Chapter 5 still, there is another quest called Bug Buster 1. Here, you will need to find 3 Novistadors that are camouflaged and hiding in plain sight. You can find them easily if you use the Biosensor scope to find their heat signatures.

The first Novistador can be found just after the cutscene where Ada is chasing after Krauser to get the Amber.

After the first cutscene ends and you need to go up and open a gate to go through, look to your right and use your sniper rifle with the Biosensor equipped. Look up and you should see the Novistador’s heat signature. Shoot it to kill it.

Later in the cave, you will have to activate the large traps that go up and go down really fast to crush you.

As the trap goes up, equip your sniper rifle with the Biosensor and you should see the heat signature of a Novistador. Shoot it and you will need to find the last one.

After moving through the crushing rocks, you will soon find stairs that will take you out of the cave.

Equip your sniper rifle with the Biosensor and look up at the ceiling. There, you will find the last Novistador. Kill it and talk to the Merchant to complete this request.

Ornate Beetles

In Chapter 6, the Merchant Request you will have to complete is called Ornate Beetles. Here, you will need to find and collect 2 beetles and sell them to the Merchant.

The first beetle can be found in the Incubation Lab where there are four tubes that contained Regenerators in Leon’s campaign.

But in Separate Ways, you can find only one Regenerator with a beetle in its body. You will need to kill the Regenerator in order to get the beetle.

Remember to use the Biosensor in this fight, as it will help you find and kill the parasites in the body of the Regenerator.

The second beetle can be found in the Dissection Room. Go inside the room that has the Regenerator in it (kill it first to avoid the headache of dealing with it) and go up to the glass on the left.

Break the glass and you will find the second beetle. Once you have both, simply go to the Merchant and sell both of the Ornate Beetles to him to complete the request.

Bug Buster 2

In Chapter 6, you will find the last Merchant Request called Bug Buster 2. Same thing as the last one, you will need to find 3 Novistadors and kill them.

When you reach the Merchant and find the Merchant Request right next to him, don’t jump off the railing yet. Instead, go to the right and look left.

Equip your sniper rifle with the Biosensor equipped and aim until you find the Novistador’s heat signature on your left. Shoot it down and then jump off the railing to find the last 2.

After you fight through a bunch of enemies, go to this spot on the map. This is the perfect spot to shoot down the last 2 Novistadors. Equip your sniper rifle with the Biosensor and aim.

The second Novistador can be found just straight ahead. Shoot it down and look to the right.
