Fix Black Screen, Fatal Crash, Infinite Loading & More | Resident Evil 4 Remake

Games not functioning properly for the first time are slowly becoming more common for people who have hardware that barely meets the recommended requirements, but that doesn’t always mean you can’t get away with not getting to play entirely. Here’s a few things you can do to keep up with the game’s demands.

  • Download the latest drivers for your GPU along with DirectX and restart your computer.
  • Consider turning off Ray Tracing once the game manages to load in to the main menu.

  • Disable Steam Overlay by going to General and uncheck the feature while in-game.
  • Allow the .exe file to run without any restrictions on your antivirus.
  • Perform a clean reinstall if the issue persists.

How to reinstall in Steam

  1. Select game in Steam > Manage > Uninstall.
  • Check steamapps folder, check the file path below, the last folder should not be visible, if so then manually delete it. The file path should look like this after:

  • Steam\steamapps\common
  • Verify integrity of game files:
  • Right click game > Local files > Verify integrity.

Try these methods and you’ll be putting down Spanish head crabs in no time. Another way of running the game without any issues is to lower your graphics settings for once. You’re not streaming anyway so there’s no need to run the game at 4K resolution!

Here we have Alexis, he's been gaming ever since the second Famicom came out. Which is probably the reason why he goes back to platformers every now and then. Somewhere down the line he started getting more and more fascinated about looking at maps change colors for three to eight hours straight. If he's not out strategizing and beating the life out of his space bar in that order there's a good chance you can find him playing an FPS or talking someone's ear out about how game balance gets in the way of realism. You can tell that he really likes getting the full experience of whatever he gets his hands on.
