Rise Online is a very big project and it was aiming to become the next successor to the MMO Knight’s Online in 2004. It is done by Turkish Game Developers and for a lot of people, it might become a fan favorite. Although if you are wondering whether it is good enough to try out, we shall be telling you what you need to know about it in this guide. Let’s get started.

Is It Worth Playing? | First Impressions – Rise Online

Rise Online is a very big project and needs to be seen in its different aspects to be able to better understand if is it worth playing right now. That is why in this guide we shall separate it into different types of sections.

Character Creation

You will have a total option of 2 factions to choose from – Protean and Lunaskar. They are basically the same basic options that most MMORPGs will have, the goodies and the baddies in a sense.

You will have the option of choosing a total of 4 classes Warrior, Rouge, Mage, and Priest. Of them, you might expect to know what they are good at. One for first-hand battling, another for high DPS while being squishy, the Mage for spells, and the Priest for heals.

You will have a wide variety of playing around with how your character looks like. Something like hairstyle, the level of masculinity, height, and so on is inside the character Creation of Rise ONline. It isn’t anything out of the ordinary but you are still able to customize your characters to look different from others.

Gameplay

This game has one of the worst tutorials in almost all of the MMORPGs out there. So you’ll need to figure stuff out for yourself or look at online guides.

The first thing that you will notice is the movement. You are able to move your character around with WASD or the Mouse. The control isn’t that good as it feels robotic and clunky. The gameplay is just what an MMORPG is. You will be starting out very slow and basic.

You’ll have very basic quests that you can follow around and kill very low NPCs. in this case they will be snails. The very instructions the game needs to give you, it simply doesn’t. Even to initiate an attack you won’t know that you need to press R.

You’ll notice that both the factions start off in the game starting area which is very weird. Other than that, a very big issue is that the map of the game doesn’t let you to scroll or zoom in and out. You won’t be able to see the details or sometimes quest markers on it.

Combat

The combat feels like it is 20 years old. It is just a plain and simple point-and-click. It does get dull very early on and especially as you progress through the game and you get many of the armors that this game has, you’ll still be stuck to the basics. Just the different animation is what you’ll see.

Visuals

Nothing out of the ordinary. It is a game made in Unreal Engine 4 so it doesn’t look outdated, but even from the first thing you’ll see, there isn’t a whole lot of detail done in almost anything. The first texture of the grass around you is bare bones.

The characters have a lot of armor on themselves making them look clunky and very funny. All of the NPCs have this basic and very boring moving about them.

Summary

The game overall is so poorly designed and there are so many dead ends that you can see on the map without any reason whatsoever. You will be getting bored in the very first minutes of the game making this game really for a big Pass. If you do want to try it out for yourself, certainly go on ahead but it seems like a very boring MMORPG and the hard learning curve makes it even worse.

We hope that this article has helped you out whether you need to try out Rise Online or give it a pass. A big thank you to TheLazyPeon for his helpful details and info.
