Without a doubt, anyone who’s played the game for a decent amount of time will have Salt in their inventories. It seems like a common item, but once you realize how useful it is — and so utilize Salt as much as you can — you’ll come to realize that it’s actually less common than you think.
So, where exactly do I get Salt in this game?
I’m going to provide a short and simple answer first, then I’ll branch off a little bit more after. For those who are simply looking for an easy means to get Salt in the game, all you have to do is visit the Trader in Robin’s Village. It doesn’t require nearly as much wit as overcoming the Whistle Puzzle, that’s for sure.
This is pretty much all you have to do to immediately get access to Salt. Of course, you can only purchase Salt from the Trader if you have the resources, so you will find yourself running out of Salt if you use it often.
Is there no way to mine Salt in this game?
As of the moment, there isn’t any means of doing that. Perhaps further on — when the devs of Robin Hood – Sherwood Builders are given the time they need to flesh things out — we’ll get a means of farming Salt. After all, there are many different ways you can farm for various items in the game.

What other ways can I get Salt?
Are you looking for the long answer now that the short and simple approach is out of the way? Okay, it’s important to note that it’s an item you’ll see in loot all across the game’s world. If you find that you can’t purchase enough Salt from the Trader, the next best thing is to loot Salt.
My sneaky way to get more Salt
The cool thing about this is the method I’m about to share with you is one of the best ways to get gold in Robin Hood – Sherwood Builders. After all, you’re looking for enough money to buy loads of Salt, so it naturally has to do with getting as much gold as possible.
First off, buy as much of the white stuff as you can. After that, head off to the forest and hunt for meat — specifically Doe Meat. You can get this by hunting for Doe. As an experienced archer, Robin of Loxley has more than enough skill to take on the challenge of hunting game. Of course, you’ll still need to craft a Bow and some Arrows.
Once you get the meat, all you have to do is start cooking. Naturally, as a game focused on crafting and building, it also allows you to cook. After all, there’s a Hunger and Thirst meter in the game. If you’re wondering where it might be, you’ll find Cooking Stations around Robin’s Village.
Add the Salt to create Roast Doe, and sell it. You’ll find that it sells for much more than you would get from just selling Raw Doe Meat. Is it starting to make sense?
Purchase Salt > Acquire Doe Meat > Cook Doe Meat > Sell Doe Meat > Use Coins to Purchase Salt
It is a surprisingly effective method at earning you loads of gold. As if that wasn’t enough, it’ll allow you to buy yet even more, which then allows you to keep going. I know this is probably going to take a lot of effort, but these kinds of games usually do. As an added bonus, here’s a little guide on gathering Cotton in the game!
