So you finally got your hands on an Enchantment Tome in Roblox DIG… or maybe you’re just eyeing one and trying not to mess it up. Either way, good call checking this guide first. When I first started enchanting, I wasted two tomes like an idiot because I didn’t understand what actually mattered. And trust me, when something has a 1 in 250 drop rate or costs 15k gold during one specific weather event, you really don’t want to mess that up. Especially when you’re enchanting shovels like Starfire (which costs 600k) or Prismatic (250k). That’s a huge investment to gamble on a bad enchant. This guide covers everything you need to know about enchanting the Starfire and Prismatic Shovels, which enchant to use, which stats to boost, and how to avoid the classic “I-just-wasted-my-only-tome” regret.
Best Enchantments for Prismatic & Starfire Shovel
So, what makes Starfire & Prismatic Shovels so good? Both of these shovels are top-tier tools when it comes to digging speed, loot, and progression. Most players will either stop at Prismatic or push all the way to Starfire.
- Prismatic Shovel – Bought from the Traveling Merchant for 250k gold. A solid mid-late game shovel with balanced stats.
- Starfire Shovel – Bought at the Meteor for 600k gold, with arguably the highest multipliers and one of the best passives in the game.
These two are absolutely worth enchanting, but only if you choose the right enchant based on their strengths (and weaknesses).

How to Enchant Your Shovel
To enchant a shovel, go to the enchanting station inside the cave (after using the elevator). It’s a little maze-like at first, but here’s the trick: Follow the blue mushrooms. That’s it. No complicated map. Just blue mushrooms = enchant zone.
What’s an Enchantment Tome?
The Enchantment Tome is a single-use item that lets you enchant a shovel. But here’s the problem:
- Drop Rate: ~1 in 250
- Buyable: From the Wizard at Rooftop Woodlands for 15k gold, but only during Clear Summer Nights.
They’re expensive, seasonal, and super rare. If you mess up the enchant, you’re out of luck (literally). If you’re trying to farm Enchantment Tomes faster (because let’s be real, the drop rate is pain), make sure to check out our full guide on Tome farming as well, it’ll save you hours of digging.
Want More Tomes? Use the Magnet Shovel
One of the best ways to increase your chances of getting a Tome is using the Magnet Shovel.
Its passive makes it better at digging up loot, and enchantment tomes count as loot. I’ve personally gotten several just grinding with it. If you’re farming tomes, Magnet Shovel is your best friend.

Starfire Shovel: Best Enchantment
Where to get it: Meteor Shower Event for 600,000 gold.
Why it’s good: Highest multipliers in the game + cracked passive.
Stats Breakdown:
- Control: 9 – You don’t need to touch this.
- Haste: 5+ – Already good.
- Luck: S-tier.
- Strength: The weak spot.
- Passive: 40% chance to apply 4x Celestial Mod.
Best Enchant: Strong. Boosting Strength makes the most difference here, especially for faster farming.
Recommended Charms:
- Cauldron Hat – +20% buff effectiveness (boosts Strength enchant!)
- Imp Horns – +1–11% Strength (but drains Endurance faster)
- Blazing Core – Another +1–11% Strength

Prismatic Shovel: Best Enchantment
Where to get it: Traveling Merchant, for 250,000 gold.
Why it’s good: Balanced stats + very customizable with charms.
Stats Breakdown:
- Control / Haste: Solid. No upgrades needed.
- Luck: If it’s around 18–20, you’re set.
- Strength: Again, this is where it’s lacking.
Best Enchant:
- Option 1: Strong – If you’re focusing on digging speed.
- Option 2: Prodigy – If you’re still grinding XP to get Starfire or unlocking new gear.
Tip: Prodigy is amazing if you’re still progressing, it gives 1.5x XP per dig. That stacks fast.

The Prismatic Domino Crown
If you’re lucky (and insane enough) to complete the entire in-game Journal (100%), you unlock the Prismatic Domino Crown Charm.
Here’s what it adds when equipped:
- +2 Control (total 11)
- +3 Haste (total 8)
- +5 Luck (total 25)
- +3 Strength (total 11)
Important: You must equip the charm to gain these boosts.
But: Most players won’t get this early. It’s not needed unless you’re going for full completion.

What’s the Best Enchant if You’re Unsure?
If you don’t know what to pick or just want a “safe” enchant for any shovel, go with: Prodigy. Why? Because you’ll always need XP in this game. Whether you’re unlocking Starfire, reaching new areas, or just farming boss drops, Prodigy helps you level faster no matter what.
Wrap-Up: Enchant Smart, Farm Smarter
If you made it this far, nice. You’re now way ahead of where I was when I burnt two tomes without thinking (RIP). The bottom line?
- Starfire wants Strong to fix its Strength weakness.
- Prismatic works great with Strong or Prodigy, depending on whether you want more digging speedor faster XP.
- If you’re completely unsure, just go with Prodigy. You literally can’t go wrong with more XP.
And don’t forget, you can boost enchants even further with charms like Cauldron Hat, Blazing Core, or (if you’re cracked enough to complete your Journal) the Prismatic Domino Crown.
