Auto-9 upgrade system in RoboCop: Rogue City is simply about your luck in getting the chips which you can slightly if you merge them. Merging the chips is simple but predicting the result is the hard part. We’re going to debunk the myths and share what really matters before you sacrifice your chip fodders.
How to Merge Chips
Chip Merging is a function readily available under the Auto-9 tab. Using 3 unwanted chips, you can get another chip in return with seemingly random percentage and direction. Is there a rule to let you decide what kind of chip exactly do you want?
You cannot determine the direction of the chips. Even if you use all omni-direction chips, you cannot guarantee the result to also be omni-directional.
While you cannot exactly predict the number either, the resulting chip will not be less than the value of the lowest chip you use. It can be very much higher, but never anything more than twice the value.
You can also improve your chip modification bonus by raising your Engineering skill. But this will never guarantee that you will always get better. So, make sure to only use chips you’re certain you’ll never use.
Chip Merging is a fun feature if you like to try your luck. A stroke of luck can land you some really great chips you might not be able to find while doing missions. But at the same time, it’s not a reliable feature since a lot of the factors.
And that’s how you can merge chips and gain value from the feature in RoboCop: Rogue City.
