I logged into Rune Slayer expecting the usual daily farm, and then boom, surprise update. New city layout for Tundra, mystery presents, a new merchant NPC, and a bunch of stealth nerfs the devs didn’t even bother to mention. Classic. So instead of farming like usual, I ended up spending hours testing what still works, where Coral actually spawns, and how to get event points without burning out. If you’re confused about where to find Coral, how the gacha works, or which farming spots are still viable after the nerfs, don’t worry, I’ve got it all covered here. This is the complete breakdown of the Tundra event update, with farming routes, reward previews, and a few tips (including a Yeti cheese strat) to help you stack points fast!
New Event Update Guide (New NPC Locations, Presents, Limited Items & More)
The new Tundra update dropped a few big things:
- A brand-new event with a point system and a gacha reward shop
- A full revamp of Tundra City (Frostrend), no longer an empty snowy wasteland!
- A new NPC: Coral the Merchant, selling limited event loot
- And yes… several stealth nerfs that weren’t even mentioned in the patch notes (more on that below)

How the Event Works
Every mob you kill drops event points, and the amount you get scales with enemy difficulty.
- Weak mobs give 1 point (deer, etc.)
- Mid-tier mobs give around 5–10
- Boss-tier mobs can give up to 20+ points per kill
I tested everything, from Mammoths (23 points) to Deer (1 point), and even tried Mandrakes… but nah. Mandrakes give zero points, even though they respawn fast. Total bait.

Coral the Merchant – Locations
Coral is the event NPC you’ll trade points with for capes, runes, and mystery presents.
The Coral NPC spawns in two locations:
- Beginner Town (Wayshire) – Right in front of the merchant
- Tundra City (Frostrend) – Right by the city gate, near the Yeti spawn
Funny enough, they forgot to re-add him to the revamped Tundra map, so your best bet for now is to visit him in Wayshire (the first map) if he’s not showing up in Tundra.
How To Enter Frostrend (Tundra City)
IMPORTANT: You need a Rune Key to enter Tundra City, which you can get from a multi-step questline. Here’s how to get it:
- Talk to the NPC on the island between the Beach and Tundra.
- Defeat the Whale Boss (spawns hourly).
- Complete a mob hunt: 2 Coconut Crabs, 2 Lobsters, 2 Skeleton Pirates, 2 Mutated Frogs.
- Then defeat 3 major bosses:
- Spider Mother (4–5 players recommended)
- Goblin King (2–3 players)
- Lich King (very tough — ranged/archer strat helps)
- Once done, you’ll get the Rune Key. Use it at the Rune Gate to enter the Tundra.

Coral’s Shop – What You Can Buy
Here’s what you can get by trading in your event points:
- Rune Carver
- Angelic Rune
- Eidolon Rune
- Satanic Rune
- Mystery Present (150 points) – gacha box with cosmetics (new capes) and limited drops
The gacha pulls are random, but I managed to get the Fifth Flame cape (epic rarity) after a few tries. Stats for now are placeholder, but here’s what mine rolled:
- +30 Intellect
- +15 Spirit
- +7% Cold Resist
Just a heads-up: All capes currently have the same stats as the Iskael Shroud, except the Fairy, which has its finalized stats. A dev confirmed the rest will be updated later.

Event Cape Showcase
Here are the four confirmed event capes you can pull from Coral’s present:
- Fifth Flame: Flamy red-orange and glowy, looks clean and eye-catching. One of my personal favorites.

- Oculus: Purple, arcane-themed, and seriously cool looking. Wish it had cape physics though.

- Divine Calling: Total Black Clover vibes. Glows with a holy shimmer. Easily the best designed one.

- Frost Prince: Perfect if you want to match your snowy Tundra drip. Sleek, icy, and clean. Again, would look even better with cape physics (smart bones).
If you pull a different one not listed here, I’m still trying to figure out the full loot pool.

Hidden Nerfs & Stealth Changes
So uh, a few stealth changes went live with this patch:
- Event point gains were shadow nerfed
- Profession EXP no longer works in private servers
- Runic Cutlass got nerfed silently (RIP, time to go back to Viridian meta)
Not gonna lie, it would’ve been nice if the devs actually said something about these, but hey, nothing new there.
Best Way to Farm Event Points (Post-Nerf)
Beastman method used to be meta. Farming the beastmen was amazing, fast kills, 150 points in 3 minutes. But they got nerfed.
NEW Meta: Beach Mobs
Currently, the fastest point farming method is killing beach mobs. If you optimize your route, you can farm: 800+ points in just 10 minutes. Here are some tips to farm faster:
- Use AoE spells
- Bring a Warlock friend with Chain Lightning
- Rotate spawn points efficiently for nonstop kills
Backup: Tundra Boss Farm
If beach mobs get nerfed next, your fallback is the Tundra:
- Farm high-HP mobs and bosses like the Yeti
- BONUS: In case you didn’t know, the Yeti boss can be cheesed, yep, there’s a super easy way to farm him without taking a single hit. If you’re tired of getting slapped around, check out my guide and save yourself the pain.
- 1,000+ points in 30 minutes is still possible
- Great if you’re already geared or in a farming slot

Wrap-Up: Is There a Better Point-Farming Method?
This update brought in a solid limited-time event, a Tundra glow-up, and some fun gacha cosmetics to chase. The point system is still generous if you know where to farm, and even with the nerfs, there are still reliable routes.
Just be quick, these event items are only available for two weeks, and the farming spots will likely get nerfed again. Let me know in the comments if you found an even better method to grind points.
