In RUST, you can learn to use electricity to power a lot of things in the game, but it’s very complicated to learn. If you were an electrical engineer, you would probably find all of these familiar and easy, but to the players who have not taken anything engineering related, you might be scratching your head in total confusion at what to do. Don’t worry, we’ve all been there with RUST. But with this guide, you won’t have to be totally confused, because this guide will show you electricity works in RUST.
Electrical Guide – RUST
The Basic Tools and Devices You Will Be Using
When doing electrical work in RUST, you will be using a couple of tools and devices that will help bring power into whatever you are working on:
- Wire Tool – This is the essential tool in doing electrical work in RUST. It is basically your step one. This tool, like the name suggests, is used to add or remove wires, as well as configuring certain components and set values. It is a default blueprint, so you can craft this at any Workbench if you have 5 High Quality Metal.
- Hammer Tool – This is the other tool you will be using. Not a lot like the Wire Tool, but it’s handy to have. The Hammer Tool can both pick up items (at the cost of 25% of the HP) and fix them if you have the resources in your inventory.
When using the Wire Tool, you will need to find the appropriate output that will power a device. So to power a device, you will need to use Power Output and connect the wire to the Electrical Input.
When you connect the wire to the Electric Input to, let’s say the Switch, the Electric Input, this powers the Switch. The Switch is now powered up, but it does not power anything as it is a Switch.
To power something, you need to use the Wire Tool again to connect the Output at the top to the Switch and connect it to any electrical device. Voila, you have yourself a battery powered electrical device.
There are other devices in the game that can give electricity and use electricity. Here are the items for future reference:
