In RUST, it can be pretty tough to have any sort of modern technology that doesn’t look like it’s about to break apart after a single use. After all, you are stranded on an island that doesn’t seem to be inhabited by anything else for a long time now. That doesn’t mean we stop being innovative and resourceful, as is the way our primitive ancestors did in the caveman times. In this guide, we will be focusing on getting automatic doors set up in any building you want, all without the help of electricity.

How To Have Automatic Closing Doors – RUST

Get Pressure Pad, Door Controller, and Wire Tool

To set up an automatic door, you will need to craft a Pressure Pad, Door Controller, and Wire Tool. You can find all of this at the Electrical Tab in the crafting menu. While it does say it is in the Electrical Tab, I want to reiterate that you do not need to have any electricity for this, so don’t worry about that part. Just get these three.

Place Pressure Pad in front of door

Now that you have your three items, you now need to set up the automatic door. First off, place your Pressure Pad in front of the door you want to make an automatic door. Make sure it is directly in front of the door you want.

Second, place the Door Controller next to the door. It has to be close to the door and the Pressure Pad in order to work correctly. If it is far from both, then you will have to move it.

Connect the Pressure Pad to the Door Controller using the Wire Tool

Moving on, we will need to use the Wire Tool to connect the Pressure Pad to the Door Controller. To do that, you will need to find the Power Out part of the Pressure Pad first.

After connecting the Wire Tool to the Power Out of the Pressure Pad, you will need to run the line towards the Door Controller, and connect the Wire Tool to the Power In.

After setting everything up, you then need to connect the door to the door controller. Before doing that, you first need to look at the lock on the door and hold the interact key. This will bring up a radial menu, which you need to select the Unlock option.

After setting the door to Unlock, move to the Door Controller and hold the interact key again. This will automatically connect the door to the Door Controller. In the radial menu, you will need to select the Lock option.

After that, you are done. Test out the automatic door and it should be working when you step on the pressure pad, go through, and the door will automatically lock behind you.

Elijah Hernandez is someone that loves video games since he was little. It didn't matter to him if people didn't like a video game. If it was fun, that was all that mattered to him. He's also a huge fan of superhero media like Marvel and DC, so he's practically played games like Spider-Man and the Batman Arkham games. He's also into multiplayer games that strike his fancy, specifically games like Call of Duty and Fortnite. Most especially Fortnite since he can play as different Marvel and DC characters in a battle royale against other famous and iconic characters.
