When playing through Baldur’s Gate 3, you’ll find a bunch of interesting loot in the game. Most of them though are things you just sell, like mundane weapons and armor. You don’t really need to carry 25 Goblin Scimitars; no, you won’t need it later! There are some items though that makes you think if it’s needed later or not. You don’t want to sell something you actually need later on!
In this guide, we’ll show you what you need to look out for in terms of Gems and Jewels in the game. So, get those jewels and gems ready since we’ll finally have a use for them!
Should You Sell Gems & Jewels?
When going through the many areas in Baldur’s Gate 3, you’ll come across these gems and jewels. From Agate to Bloodstones and Malachites. You’ll even find some jewelry and rings from containers or even enemies. The big question is, what are they for? Should you just sell them or keep them since they’ll be important later?
The short answer is that you should just sell them. These gems and jewelry are only for selling in the game. So, if you find some get them to sell later, they’re all quite light and even if it clutters the inventory, you can just send it back to camp.
Be sure to check them all out though. Some Jewelry are magical and can give you some neat bonuses or even let you cast certain spells. To check them, just hover over them and see what they do. If they don’t do anything, then they’re mundane and are only there to sell.
Some gems are important though, like the one for a certain necromancer’s book. The thing is if a gem is important, it usually has a border around it akin to a rarity color. So, if you find a gem like that then it’s probably for some quest and it’s best not to sell it!
That’s what you do with Gems and Jewels in Baldur’s Gate 3! Now go out there and sell those mundane items and actually buy something useful. Like magical scrolls or potions! Make sure to go check out our guide on how to get a Legendary Staff if you haven’t already!
