You can imagine how much of a slog it is to get from one place to another in Smalland, not only do you have to cover double (or triple) the distance a normal human would, but you also have to do it while dodging bugs or other unspeakable creatures that are nesting in your circuit breaker. Don’t check it now you still have a Grasshopper to tame!

There are a few things you have to have on hand before you go near these things, but it could be worse, it could be a Wolf Spider. So stick around, read the guide, and find out what you can to make traveling around Overland easier for yourself!

How To Tame A Grasshopper – Smalland

A Grasshopper will probably be the first mount you’ll get for yourself, others would include Damselflies, Wolf Spiders, Geckos, and Ladybugs.

Each of them will have a unique way of letting you traverse the surface world, completely removing the need for walking. A little bit of legwork is still needed before you can mount one, however.

The Grasshopper will be one of the easier targets as you don’t need to kill any bosses to unlock a recipe for it. All you have to do is have a treat in your inventory at the ready before searching for one to tame.

What you’ll need for the Grasshopper Treat are 3x insect eggs, 1x Petal, and 2x Seed oil.

You don’t need to have the treat in your hand, the only thing left to do now is to beat up the first Grasshopper you see and drain its health below 50%. Do that and a prompt will appear for you to tame it, once you do, more options will appear and you’ll be able to mount it without further delay.

Just stay away from water, they don’t take too kindly to any of that for obvious reasons. They can fall from any height without any damage though, as long as you’re mounted that is!

Here we have Alexis, he's been gaming ever since the second Famicom came out. Which is probably the reason why he goes back to platformers every now and then. Somewhere down the line he started getting more and more fascinated about looking at maps change colors for three to eight hours straight. If he's not out strategizing and beating the life out of his space bar in that order there's a good chance you can find him playing an FPS or talking someone's ear out about how game balance gets in the way of realism. You can tell that he really likes getting the full experience of whatever he gets his hands on.
