Now that the Era 8 update of Sol’s RNG is out, a bunch of new content was added to the game as with any other patch they previously released. In this version, we now have two new merchants who sell all sorts of goodies, including the Lucky Penny. In this guide, we’ll be briefly showing you how to get one of these and what it can actually do for you.

How to Get Lucky Penny Item Effect

First up, you will need to wait for one of the new NPC merchants to spawn. Specifically, you will need to find Mari, the travelling merchant.

The way this works is a bit complex and largely unknown to the community, so check out our guide on how to find the black merchant locations in Sol’s RNG for more information on how people think Mari (and even the Jester) spawns.

Basically, you must wait for a white beam of light to appear somewhere on the map. Zoom your map out as far as you can to increase your chances of finding it when it appears, as it can show up on any biome and at pretty much any time.

Once a white beam of light briefly appears on the map, run to it and you will find Mari waiting for you. She only stays for a couple of minutes, and as far as we know, her stock is shared among other players, which means you’ll need to be there first.

Mari sells all sorts of useful items in exchange for regular cash, but most notably, she has a chance to sell the Lucky Penny for only around $77,777.

Again, since the stock of these new merchants is supposedly shared, you will have to be fast, as other players will definitely be gunning for this item too. Mari only carries one Lucky Penny every time she has it in her shop.

How Does the Lucky Penny Work?

Once you have managed to purchase a Lucky Penny, it will immediately start taking effect. It basically gives you a passive +77% luck bonus and a 7% faster rolling speed as soon as it enters your inventory.

There is, however, a major catch to this item. Every 10 minutes, there is a 1% chance for the Lucky Penny to simply disappear from your inventory with no warning.

We are unsure if this effect persists while you are logged off, but it will essentially be taken away from you at one point if you’re unlucky.

While the Lucky Penny is active, there will be an icon on the lower right hand corner of the screen that you can hover over. This will show you that the +77% luck bonus is active. If it isn’t there, it is likely that your Lucky Penny has already been taken away.

We still think it’s absolutely worth it due to the low chance of it disappearing, but also consider getting some Lucky Potions and Speed Potions from Mari if you can. These will stack nicely with the item’s buffs.

And that is everything you need to know about the new Lucky Penny item and what its passive effects are. If you want to find out more about what the new merchant sells, check out our guide on how to find Mari in Sol’s RNG, which includes an entire list of her other offerings in the shop.
