Sons of the Forest 1.0 – All Book Recipes Location (Glider Launcher & More)

With the launch of Update 1.0, Sons of the Forest has now finally had its much awaited full launch. This means that a lot of extra content has been added compared to its early access days. In essence, players can now complete their book recipes with the already scores of blueprints available.

However, locating all the recipes can be a difficult task, especially if you don’t know where to look. Don’t worry, we’re here to help you out. In this Sons of the Forest guide, we’ll show you where you can find all the book recipes and blueprints so you can complete the set. Let’s get into it!

All Book Recipes Location

Update 1.0 for Sons of the Forest added a total of 4 new blueprints, or book recipes, that you can find in the world. Some of these are tied to the main story, so we’ll mark them as spoilers where relevant.

Book Recipe/Blueprint Location #1 – Return Teleporter Platform

The first book recipe that you can get in Sons of the Forest is Return Teleporter Platform. It can be found in a new area added with Update 1.0, that has a variety of tents and surveillance equipment. Here is a guide which gives a complete breakdown of Update 1.0.

When you’re in the area, you’ll notice a gap in the ground that you descend using the rope.

After you’re down, you’ll see a dark cave up ahead. Enter through the cave and you’ll come across a fork in the path.

Go straight ahead and you’ll come across the end of the cave. On a small platform, next to a skeleton, you’ll see a piece of paper. This is the Return Teleporter Platform Blueprint!

Pick it up and you can see it requires the following resources:

  • x8 Skulls
  • x50 Bones
  • x33 Rocks

Book Recipe/Blueprint Location #2 – Glider Launcher

Next up, is another useful book recipe that you’ll want on – especially if you like to glide in Sons of the Forest. You might also want to check out our detailed guide on locating the Glider Launcher Blueprint.

It can be found next to a secret cave that is nearby a strange orange blip on your GPS. The location for this blip is shown on the GPS below.

Additionally, here is what the orange blip looks like zoomed in. You’ll know you’re in the right place when you see some corpses nearby a ridge. Essentially, the orange blip is indicating the location of GPS Locators.

If you turn towards the ridge, you’ll see a dark gap that indicates the start of a cave. Enter inside this gap.

After you go through the gap, you’ll come across a cave entrance that is blocked by some wooden boards. Use a weapon, like an axe, to break down these boards and enter inside.

Essentially, you want to navigate to the end of the cave. The cave goes quite deep but the path ahead is pretty straightforward and does not branch out. It will loop around and open quite a bit. 

Also, make sure you get all the goodies inside, while avoiding all the enemies! Don’t get frightened by the gore and hanging bodies.

At the end of the cave, you’ll see some skeletons lying around. Near one of these skeletons, you’ll see a book recipe, or blueprint, on the ground. Pick it up to get the Glider Launcher Blueprint.

The Glider Launcher Book Recipe will show you the you need the following resources:

  • x14 Sticks
  • x14 Logs
  • x4 Wires
  • x4 Turtle Shells

Book Recipe/Blueprint Location #3 – Mysterious Skull Structure

The next book recipe that we’ll be looking at for Update 1.0 of Sons of the Forest is the Mysterious Skull Structure. It can also be found next to another orange blip indicating a GPS Locator. Below is what the orange blip looks like on the GPS map.

Additionally, here is what the area for the book recipe will look like zoomed in on the GPS map.

In this area, you’ll see that there is a notable area with wooden boards on an incline. Break these wooden boards with a weapon or an axe and enter inside.

This cave is very open but the path ahead is also straight forward. The book recipe here is located at the end of the cave. You’ll have to jump down a few platforms until you eventually reach a barrel at the end.

On top of this barrel, you’ll see that there is a book recipe. Pick it up to get the recipe of the Mysterious Skull Structure.

Book Recipe/Blueprint Location #4 – Golden Armor Holder (SPOILERS)

Last, but not least, we have the Golden Armor Holder blueprint. Locating this book recipe is part of the main story and is actually near the end of the Sons of the Forest. So, we recommend that you do not read this part if you’re worried about spoilers.

With that said, let’s locate the blueprint. While you go through the main story, you’ll come across a strange looking bunker entrance.

The location for this bunker is shown on the GPS map, just so you know where to look for it during the story.

Once you’re ready, go through the entrance and shimmy through the narrow gap. After that, keep following the straightforward path ahead. The location for this book recipe is a long way ahead, but you won’t have much trouble navigating through it.

Eventually, you’ll come across an area where you can choose two doors. Go through the door on the left.

After that, go through the large corridors until you arrive at a receptionist’s desk. There will be some art displayed on the walls. Between two art works, there will be an entrance that you can go through.

This leads into a large bedroom that looks very lived in. On the left side, there will be a door that leads into the bathroom. Go through it, while ignoring the totally not obvious trail of blood.

The bathroom is quite spacious and consists of a series of closets and shields. You want to go to the part that has the bathtub and shower. A part of the wall here will be broken with steam coming out of it. Ignore the steam and go through the gap.

Here, you’ll find yourself in front of a golden gate that leads you very close to the end of the story. Just before the golden gate you’ll see a skeleton lying down. The book recipe for the Golden Armor Holder will be next to it.
