Sons of the Forest received their latest patch, which is patch 11. There are a lot of new additions added with patch 11, like a new mysterious item that is hidden somewhere in the island. But we’re not talking about new additions to the game, we’re talking about the changes made. Electricity right now works differently compared to the previous patches, which might confuse some players. In this guide, I will show you how the new electricity works after the newest patch in Sons of the Forest.
How Does Electricity Work in Patch 11?
The only way to use electricity in Sons of the Forest is by using Golf Cart Batteries or Solar Panels. To use Solar Panels, you will need to place them in areas that are not constantly covered by shade to be effective.
Now, if you want to power something like an Electric Fence, you will need to use a Wire to connect the Solar Panel to the Electric Fence. Simply link the Wire from the Solar Panel and then connect the Wire to the Electric Fence. This will then power only a limited number of Electric Fences.
If you install too much Electric Fences with only one Solar Panel, you will not have enough electricity to fully power the entire Electric Fence, which will then cause the entire fence to stop working as the Solar Panel is unable to accumulate enough electricity to power it.
The only way to resolve this lack of electricity is to install more Solar Panels. Simply place a Solar Panel next to the one you have installed and use a Wire to link the Solar Panels together. This will then charge up the Electric Fences and other electrical appliances once more.
However, since these are Solar Panels, they require the sun to fully power them. If the sky starts to darken and there is no more sunlight hitting the Solar Panels, they will eventually stop working and stop powering whatever electrical appliance you have them installed to.
Thankfully, there is a way to power them even when there isn’t any sunlight hitting the Solar Panels. Remember how I mentioned Golf Cart Batteries are the other sources of power you can use? Luckily, you can use these nifty little things to help power the Solar Panels.
Simply place the Golf Cart Batteries right next to the indicator and it will automatically connect to the Solar Panels and power them, which in turn power all of your electrical appliances.
That’s all you need to know about how you can use electricity in Sons of the Forest with the latest patch 11. Did this guide help you understand how you can use electricity in the game after the latest patch? Let us know in the comments below.
