With the new Ginger Island comes new adventures, and one of those adventures takes you up to a volcano. Once you do get up there, you’ll see the Forge. The place where you can upgrade your weapons and tools to even better versions. You think Iridium tools are the best? You can still upgrade them to be better with this guide!

Ultimate Forge Guide In Stardew Valley

In this guide, we’ll show you what you can do with the forge in Ginger Island. Before you here though, you’ll need a couple of things. Mainly Prismatic Shards and Cinder Shards, so better go get them before going here!

Upgrading Tools

A neat feature of the Forge is the ability to enchant tools. With the cost of 1 Prismatic Shard and 20 Cinder Shards, you can enchant a tool of your choice. Remember that enchantments are random, so better bring a lot!

Here are the tools and their possible enchantments:

Hoe

  • Reaching: Increase maximum range to 5×5.
  • Archeologist: Double chance of finding artifacts.
  • Swift: Tool is 33% faster.
  • Efficient: Costs no stamina to use.

Axe

  • Powerful: Adds 2 extra power levels.
  • Swift: Tool is 33% faster.
  • Efficient: Costs no stamina to use.
  • Shaving: Adds 3 extra wood from trees.

Pickaxe

  • Powerful: Adds 1 extra power level.
  • Efficient: Costs no stamina to use.
  • Swift: Tool is 33% faster.

Watering Can

  • Bottomless: Infinite Water.
  • Reaching: Increase maximum range to 5×5.
  • Efficient: Costs no stamina to use.

Fishing Rod

  • Auto Hook: Automatically hooks fish.
  • Master: Increase fishing level by 1.
  • Preserving: 50% chance that the bait and/or tackle aren’t consumed on use.
  • Efficient: Costs no stamina to use.

Weapons

There are a lot of weapons in Stardew Valley, and all of them have different looks, stats and playstyles. They can also be even more unique with new enchantments. All weapons have the same possible enchantments, which are:

  • Vampiric: 9% chance to heal 9% of target the enemy’s health
  • Crusader: +50% more damage to ghosts and mummies. You can now destroy mummies.
  • Artful: -50% cooldown on special moves
  • Bug Killer: 100% damage to bugs. You can now kill the armored bugs.
  • Haymaker: Get more fiber from hitting weeds.

You can also enchant weapons using precious gems. Each gem can be used 3 times on a weapon, increasing the Cinder Shard cost from 10 to 15 and to 20. Here are the various gems and what they can do to your weapon:

  • Emerald: Increase weapon speed by up to +7.
  • Jade: Increase critical damage by 10%.
  • Ruby: Increase damage by 10%.
  • Topaz: Increase defense by 1.
  • Amethyst: Increase knockback by 1.
  • Aquamarine: Increase Critical chance by 4.6%.

Using 3 Galaxy Souls you can forge a galaxy weapon into its final form; an Infinity Weapon! Don’t like the look of your weapon? You can combine two weapons and it will take the appearance of the first weapon, but have the stats of the second weapon!

Combine Rings

Lastly, you can combine two rings into one, combing both effects into one ring. Sadly, you can’t combine two of the same rings, but you can combine Iridium bands with other rings to make them even better!
