In each region of Tears of the Kingdom, be it the ones you’ve visited in Breath of the Wild or the new underground and sky island areas, there’s a lot of quests. Some of these quests can be quite fun to do, especially if you like using certain abilities. The Crossing the Cold Pool quest has you use Ultrahand to solve it so if you love using Ultrahand this is the quest for you!
In this guide, we’ll show you how to do the Crossing the Cold Pool side quest in the game. Be ready since it can be a bit chilly there!
Crossing the Cold Pool Guide
In the Hebra Mountains region there’s a lot of quests you can do, one of them is the Crossing the Cold Pool side quest. This can be found in the Talonto Peak Cave, and you’ll need to use your Ultrahand to solve this problem!
Here are the steps we’ll need to take to complete this quest:
- Go to Talonto Peak Cave at -3321, 2453, 0347.
- Talk to Verla to start the quest.
- Using Ultrahand, bring the wooden platforms next to Verla into the cave.
- Cross the cold pool using the wooden platforms.
- Collect 10 Chillshroom at the back of the cave.
- Give the Chillshrooms to Verla to complete the quest!
Detailed Walkthrough
In the Hebra Mountain region to the northwestern part of the map is where you want to go. You’re looking for the Talonto Peak Cave in the coordinates -3321, 2453, 0347. It’s not that difficult to find since there’s an NPC right outside the cave.
The place is quite cold though so make sure to bring some cold protection clothes or prepare necessary consumables/food. One of the better sets of armor for cold resistance is the Snowquill Armor set and in our guide we show you how to get it so make sure to check that one out!
Right outside the cave is the NPC Verla, talk to the NPC to start the quest. They need mushrooms from the cave, but the way is blocked by a cold pool of water. Right next to her is a pile of wooden platforms, use your Ultrahand and bring them into the cave.
Your goal is to make a path through the water using the wooden platforms. You can either make a full bridge or alternate between two pieces of wood. Whatever choice you take you’ll want to get to the very back of the cave.
Once you’ve crossed the icy water, you’ll see these small blue mushrooms. Collect them, you’ll need at least 10 of them.
These are Chillshroom and this is the mushroom that Verla was talking about. There’s a lot more at the very back of the cave so pick as much as you can, you need 10 for the quest.
Once you get 10, go back to Verla and give the 10 mushrooms. This will automatically finish the quest!
