Detailed Walkthrough
This is a series of 3 side quests called Misko’s Treasure of Awakening. Each side quest is started after reading a stone and solving a puzzle and it leads to a cave that has a part of the Awakening set. These quests will take place in a lot of different places so hopefully you have a lot of shrines unlocked for easy travel!
Misko’s Treasure of Awakening I
The first area that we’ll need to go to is the Goronbi River Cave which is southwest of the Goron Hot Springs. This is also the area where you can find a piece of the Ember armor set. In our guide on how to get the Ember Armor set, we go in more detail on how to get that set so go check that out!
Go through the end of the cave, using either hydrants to make rock platforms or use Tulin’s Power of Wind.
Once you reach near the end you’ll need to climb up the rock shown below. That’s where you’ll find a piece of the Ember Armor in a chest.
Once you open the chest and take the armor a short cutscene will play and it’ll show a rock slab. That’s what you’ll need to read to start the quest.
The slab reads:
“Visitor from afar, should your thirst for treasure remain unslaked, read on. I discovered the Tunic of Awakening in a strange land and have hidden it away. Solve my Riddle to make it your own. On the Tabantha Frontier, where Rayne, Piper and Tanagar meet, ruined pillars stand together. One of those mighty pillars open the way to my treasure. Solve my Riddle, find my treasure, and earn my respect.”
– The Great Bandit Misko
When you look at the Tabantha Frontier region there you’ll find Piper Ridge, Rayne Highlands and Tanagar Canyon. In the middle of all of those is the Ancient Columns where you’ll need to go.
Go there and climb up one of the columns that has a button on top of it. This will open the cave nearby and you can go inside.
Inside the cave is a chest and inside that chest is the Tunic of Awakening!
Next to the chest is another stone slab that you’ll need to read to start the second quest.
Misko’s Treasure of Awakening II
Once you read the stone slab inside the Ancient Column Cave next to the chest it’ll automatically start the next quest. The stone slab reads:
“Visitor from afar, should your thirst for treasure remain unslaked, read on. I discovered the Trousers of Awakening in a strange land and have hidden them away. Solve my riddle to claim them. In the ruins of Hyrule Field, where warriors once tested themselves in battle… offer your soldier’s claymore to the two sculpted soldiers. The sword will point the way to my treasure.”
– The Great Bandit Misko
The stone slab is talking about the Coliseum Ruins that can be found in Hyrule Field just near Aquame Lake. Go there and you’ll find a Thunder Gleeok if you haven’t defeated it already. You don’t need to defeat the Gleeok so if you can’t then don’t worry.
Go to the southern parts of the coliseum and you’ll find a hole on the floor blocked by stone similar to the previous cave. Near it are two soldier statues, one with a sword and one without.
Use Ultrahand to place the nearby sword onto the hand of the soldier that doesn’t have one. This will then open the hole on the floor and you can jump in.
Just like the cave before the Coliseum Ruins cave has a chest that has the Trousers of Awakening. Next to it is another stone slab you can read to start the final side quest of this series.
Misko’s Treasure of Awakening III
The stone slab in the Coliseum Ruins cave will read as follows:
“Visitor from afar, should your thirst for treasure remain unslaked, read on. I discovered the Mask of Awakening in a strange land and have hidden them away. Solve my riddle to claim them. On Hyrule Ridge, in Ludfo’s Land, ruins sleep beneath the towering mushroom trees. Connect the southern column’s midday shadow to the northern. At the Shadow’s center the way to my treasure will open.”
– The Great Bandit Misko
The area that we’ll need to go next is the Thundra Plateau next to Ludo’s Bog in Hyrule Ridge. There you’ll find some columns, and as the slab says, you’ll need to connect the southern column’s shadow with the northern. This must be done in midday for the puzzle to work.
Around the columns there are trees that you can cut down and make into a long pole. You can then place the long pole on top of the southern column and at midday connect the shadow to the northern one.
If done right the hole on the ground in the middle of the columns will open. This will then lead you to another cave where the last piece of the Awakening set is: the Mask of Awakening!
With that all of the quests for Misko’s Treasure of Awakening is done!
That’s how you finish all of the quests in Misko’s Treasure of Awakening in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. There’s a lot of other cool side quests out there so look out for them!
