What’s a good past time activity when you’re visiting the rural areas of Tears of the Kingdom? That’s right, talking to animals and a healthy amount of superstition! Penn is out and about again doing all sorts of crazy Hyrule journalism work and needs your help once more.
His lead eventually becomes a source of trouble as you go through the quest. Nothing you can’t handle however, but it’s better to be prepared. In this guide, you’ll be taking on the Cucco’s trials near the South Akkala Stable. Find out more below!
The All-Clucking Cucco Guide
You’ll be running around the South Akkala Stable for the duration of this quest. The stable is located southeast of Death Mountain. Here’s what you’ll be doing during this quest:
- Talk to Penn to start the quest.
- Talk to the Cucco near the stable.
- Perform two timed trials near the stable.
- Fight Yiga Footsoldiers.
- Finish the cutscene with Penn to finish the quest!
Detailed Walkthrough:
Use the Mayachideg Shrine to get closer to the South Akkala Stable. Penn will talk you into communicating with a Cucco nearby that speaks prophecies.
Head northeast of the stable to get to the tree stump where the Cucco bystander is. You’ll have to get in line though as Lonni got here first.
Talk to the Cucco and he’ll tell you to go to the top of the stable. You’ll only have 45 seconds to do this so make use of your glider and your ascend ability to phase through the tent.
Find a good spot and jump in there blind. He never really restricted you from using otherworldly means to finish the trial so it’s all fair from here!
The next trial is rather easy. All you have to do is chop down a tree and bring back three logs. This time you have one minute and thirty seconds to finish the trial, which is more than enough time to get everything done!
Don’t forget to use your Ultrahand ability to transport the logs back to the hill! Stick all three of them together to remove the possibility of you having to make any return trips.
Time for the big reveal! It turns out that the talking Cucco was nothing but a ruse pulled by the local Yiga Footsoldiers. Survive the ambush and clear the hill of any undesirables and Penn will follow shortly.
Penn will swoop in again and reward you 1 Purple and Red Rupee for your troubles. This ends The All-Clucking Cucco quest. Maybe he’ll pay more attention the next time he hears otherworldly voices before sending you in blind?
