We all know that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom lets its players explore the vast open world. It would not be a surprise if the game has hidden a few hidden treasures for you to uncover. That’s where the Old Maps comes in. Found in treasures covered by layers of vines hidden from sight.

This article will be focused on how you can locate all the Old Maps, scattered in different regions of the Sky Islands archipelago. The Depths is where the treasure is hidden. Though, take note that the treasure can be opened even without finding the Old Map first.

How to Get All Old Maps

As mentioned, the maps are located on different Sky Islands. You will need to go to different islands to find all the hidden treasures and get Old Maps. Some clusters of floating islands may contain 1 to 3 treasures. Some are easy to find in the islands themselves, while others are guarded by Elite enemies or a group of enemies.

However, the chests containing the maps can be seen in separate islands that require you to build vehicles to reach these certain areas. You may need to use Link’s abilities to reach the chest. Some treasure requires defeating a mini-boss like the Flux Construct 1. You need to have access to Skyview Towers in order to reach the sky islands.

Old Maps Locations

I will show you the spots or locations of the chest, including those that are in the hard-to-reach areas of the sky islands, and also how you can use the old maps once you have acquired one. The Old Maps chest is commonly found on Sky Island heavily guarded by enemies and contains mini-bosses. Let’s focus on the West Hebra Sky Archipelago as an example.

  1. Firstly, got to Lindor’s Brow Skyview Tower located at these coordinates (-1919, 1241, 027). Once you reach the tower, use the launch pad in order to fly high in the sky. Use the glider to go to our next location.
  2. Our first destination to get 1 Old Map, is the Flux Construct 1 mini-boss area. Here is a guide on how to defeat the boss. After defeating the boss, look around and you will see the chest. I marked the exact location in the picture below. The coordinates are (-3846, 2761, 0544)Tears of the Kingdom: How to Get All Old Maps
  3. After that, let’s head on to the second location. Look behind and head towards the staircase that leads you to a hot air balloon. Assemble the balloon by attaching a Flame Emitter. Use the balloon to raise up in the air. The landmark of the next destination is a Shrine entrance. You will glide to the next sky island shown in the picture below. 4. When you have reached the island, go to the lever in the island’s center. Push it clockwise to align the ramp towards the island where the 2nd treasure is located. If you have aligned the ramp, go to the front and a mechanism will launch you into the air, gliding your way to the floating island. 5. Generally speaking, all the Old Map treasure chests are found on different Sky Islands. Defeat Mini-bosses and Elite enemies to get chests that contain the old map. Build necessary vehicles to reach other areas of the Sky Archipelago. I suggest that you go to the Sky Islands where there are plenty of enemies around and mini-bosses. Because we all know, when there are tons of enemies, they are guarding something, and that is a treasure!

The “X” Marks The Spot

As soon as you have acquired an old map. Just open your Map and it will automatically show the location of the hidden treasure. You can now proceed to The Depths. You can enter the depths by going to the different Chasms found in different regions of the map. Use the glider once you’re near the ground to prevent fall damage.
