The Strongest Battlegrounds features some of the most iconic characters from the One Punch Man series. Fans can master their favorite characters with unique move sets that are inspired by the iconic anime. This includes their Ultimate versions which makes for some really fun and unique gameplay, fighting against other players.
However, who is the best character currently in the game? To answer this question, we have prepared a Tier List ranking everyone into separate tiers, alongside reasons. This Tier List can also be used as a guide by new players as well trying to figure out who they should use in the current state of the game. Let’s dive into this Tier List and see who is the strongest!
Best Tier List
Since Metal Bat is now free in the game, we have prepared a Tier List that will include him within the rankings. We will be ranking all of the characters in the game on the basis of their Abilities, Combat, Combos, Potential and Ultimate.
In this way, we can ascertain which is the strongest in the current state of the game. Here is the Tier List shown below.
Broken
The Ultimate Version of Metal Bat is just way too overpowered. He has a Death Counter which activates at the beginning of two powerful moves: Savage Tornado and Brutal Beatdown. As if this wasn’t strong enough, he also gets a gamble move which basically destroys health and strength difference.
Additionally, if you miss your death counter, you instead do a ground slam that does about 50% damage to your opponent’s health. As a result, he is just a broken character at the moment and needs an update.
S Tier
The best all round character in the game by far is Saitama. His combos tend to be really easy to learn. He does have Advanced combos, but even his easier ones do a ton of damage. Additionally, he gets his Ultimate very quickly compared to the other characters.
The only downside to Saitama’s Ultimate is that you can only use one move at a time. However, when the enemy does get hit, they end up getting One Punched. He also has a death counter which is very unpredictable. It can be very powerful if you do not reveal to the opponent that you have it activated.
A Tier
- Since Metal Bat is now free, players have been able to play him properly now. Starting off, he excels at close range combat due to his various gap closing moves. However, he also has a Foul Ball variant which allows him to be used at range. As a result, Metal Bat can be incredibly unpredictable and tricky, especially when used by experienced players. He also has some strong combos that can frustrate your opponents a lot!
- There is no character in the game that is more deadly at close range fighting than Garou. His moves can guard break opponents and easily be transformed into a combo. These combos are devastating and can leave players at a huge disadvantage in battles. However, he doesn’t really have any ranged moves which can be an issue at times. His Ultimate might be strong, but is certainly weaker than the rest of the Ultimates. This is because it is just a stronger version of his base character, providing no new moves or additions.
B Tier
Genos can be a huge hindrance at range and has the ability to do plenty of mini destructive combos. Every finished move he also does can reset all his moves, which is incredibly handy against mobs of enemies or teamers. This is why he is used extensively when people grind for leaderboards. While he is excellent at long to mid range, he is still quite weak at close range.
The new Ultimate Genos has definitely made him a lot better than before. He has a variety of moves in this form that can be used against enemies at any range. This includes moves that are good at close range, and combo starters. His instant cooldown, while only applicable on certain abilities, makes him really useful.
C Tier
Sonic has changed a bit since the recent changes made to him. This includes the Shuriken buff which means that this move can no longer be blocked. However, he still has three other moves that are easily blockable.
As a result, Sonic and his combos can easily be countered just by holding block since players have just gotten really good at figuring him out. The saving grace for Sonic is that he has a very powerful Ultimate. His Awakened Sonic form has a variety of fast and lethal moves that still give trouble to the most experienced of players.
Unfinished
Atomic Samurai is the latest character in the game but he is unfortunately not finished yet. He only has two moves which is not enough to judge him yet. However, if the One Punch series is anything to go by, he will likely be pretty strong. This is because he gets a particular blade in the story, but we won’t spoil that! As a result, it is possible he gets into the A Tier.
That’s everything that needs to be said about the characters in this Tier List. It is important to note that these reasons have been given based on the current state of the game with some subjectivity to them. Once Atomic Samurai has finished, it is very likely that his entire move set may change up the Tier List for the game. You may even use it as a guide if you are just starting off with the game!
