Stardew Valley has just received a new update called 1.5, and when playing the game, you might realize that there are a lot of changes that were made. However, aside from the quality of life changes, Stardew Valley has received a lot more content that might rake in players from how good it looks. We will be talking about the changes of Stardew Valley and what it has in store for those who are just coming back after a while, or for those who are looking to get into it.
Stardew Valley – The Truth About The 1.5 Update
New Farm Layout
There is a new farm layout in the game and it is called the Beach Farm. This is a new addition to the game, and it completely changes the way you play Stardew Valley. Due to the whole terrain being covered in beach sand, you cannot place sprinklers anywhere, which makes things much more difficult.
This is a new farm layout that veteran players can enjoy, as it offers new challenges that they can face as longtime players of the game. After all, a beach farm is very different than that of a regular farm.
New Quest Board
In the new 1.5 update, there is also a new quest board. Here, you can select from two quests, both reset on Mondays. The quests aren’t very challenging, but they can be difficult if you are not prepared. They are also worth it, as the quests can drop some great rewards, including new recipes.
Ginger Island
There is also a new zone called Ginger Island. Here, you can start a new farm, as well as build yourself a new home to sleep in. The best part about Ginger Island is that it has a tropical environment, meaning that all of your crops can grow at any time. This island is especially helpful on Winter seasons.
Volcano Dungeon
To add some spice into this update, 1.5 adds a new dungeon called the Volcano. Here, you will face new enemies that are all based around the fire element. Along with new enemies, you can get new resources like Cinder Shards, which you need in order to utilize the Forge that is located on the 10th floor, which is the top floor of the Volcano.
New Friend and NPC’s
There is a new friend that you can befriend in the game named Leo, a child that is living alone on the island. Without spoiling anything, we can only tell you to talk to the poor kid and befriend him. There are also other NPC’s in the new island, but they cannot be befriended like Leo, as they are just secondary NPC’s.
Mini Museum
One of the new NPC’s in the island also runs a Mini Museum, which you can fill up with fossils hidden around the island. Finding all fossils and filling up the museum will reward you with an Ostrich Incubator (you must craft it first), meaning you can get an Ostrich to roam around in your farm.
Exclusive Walnut Room
In the new island, there are Golden Walnuts scattered all over the island. If you find all 100 Golden Walnuts, you will be granted access to the exclusive Walnut Room. Here, you can find another quest board with two quests, similar to the other quest board. However, these quests are very difficult, regardless of how well prepared you are.
If you are able to complete the quests, you are rewarded with Qi Gems, a new currency that you can use to spend on a store next to the quest board. Here, you can buy a lot of new items that cannot be found anywhere else, except the new store.
Harder Mines
There are also much harder mines in the game, with the difficulty cranked up to 11 due to the enemies being incredibly difficult and harder to kill because of the difficulty. However, this is a great challenge for those who love the combat of Stardew Valley, and it also drops some great rewards.
New Seeds, Crops, and Fruits
Lastly, we now have new seeds, crops, and fruits added to the game. One of the best additions is the seed that can grow a Hardwood Tree, which now means it’s easy to farm Hardwood. Along with that, there are also new crops and fruits, meaning there are also new cooked meals to get.Stardew Valley’s impressive new 1.5 update brings a lot to the table, and thanks to mGaud, we know what we can expect when jumping into the game.
