Thymesia is a new entry to the Souls genre, a genre that you may find familiar. With the creation of Demon Souls, and the popularization of its spiritual successor, Dark Souls, the Souls genre was born. As many developers wanted to create their own game with the same mechanics of a Souls game, Thymesia is another new addition to the many games in the Souls genre. Thymesia shares many of what makes a Souls game a Souls game like combat, movement, as well as talent points. In this guide, we will show you how to use said talent points.
Talent Points Ultimate Guide – Thymesia
To level up, you have to go the Level Up menu that you can access when talking to an NPC that you will meet later in the game. You will have three attributes that you can upgrade using the accumulated experience you have collected: Strength, Vitality, and Plague.
Upgrading your Strength stats will increase your Attack Damage and Amount of Wounds stats. Upgrading Plague will increase Claw Damage and Energy stats. Lastly, upgrading Vitality increases your Health only.
You will not be able to get to the Talent Points until you have reached level 25, at which point you can start gaining Talent Points that you can use. Bear in mind that you can only reach level 50, as it is the max level, and in doing so will let you get access to the Talent Points and the secondary attributes of your Plague Weapons.
Before we move on to Talent Points, I want to point out that you have to be sure that when you upgrade your attributes, you are doing so because you are using a Plague Weapon associated to that attribute. For example, upgrading your Strength to level 20 will allow you to use both of the secondary effects of the Knife.
But if you use a weapon like the Katar, which is tied to your Plague that is only level 12, you can only use one of the secondary effects. Make sure you have a weapon that you are sure that you are sticking to for the rest of the game once you upgrade a certain attribute.
Moving on to the Talent screen, you will be shown the skills you can dump your Talents into, like the Dodge and Slash for Saber. There are a lot of skills that you can use here, which all cost a different amount of Talent Point. Of course, select the skills that you want to use, but here are the skills that the game offers so that you can have an idea on what to get.
We will show you some of the best skills in the Talent menu that you should get, but only use if you’re going for a certain build. Not all skills will be shown for reasons like that the skills being unlocked from the beginning or that these skills are deemed not important and can be ignored for the whole playthrough.

Bear in mind that not all skills are going to go well together, so the free respec is a godsend, as you can always just start from scratch and experiment on what skill goes better with what skill and such. With that out of the way, you are now ready to take on the very scary world of Thymesia.
