Umamusume: Pretty Derby has introduced another new scenario that might be an upgrade to all the existing ones in the game. This is the Unity Cup Scenario that can be a bit overwhelming for some players. After all, you need a different approach with this scenario compared to the URA one that you might be used to. To help you out, we’ll be going through everything you need to know in this scenario guide – including the basics, showdown choices and more. Without further delay, let’s get into the guide!
Unity Cup Scenario Guide
The Unity Cup is a scenario that is a direct upgrade for both long distance and short distance builds. So, like it or not, this is replacing the URA scenario as there’s no reason left to run it anymore.
You get access to more skills and stats, alongside stronger Umas.
Unity Cup Basics
The Unity Cup does share some basic fundamentals with the URA scenario, which are:
- Same career objectives
- Same unique Lvl Up requirements
- Ends with the same 3 URA finale races.
However, the Unity Cup also features its own mechanics that make it quite different, which are:
- You raise a full squad instead of one Uma
- Your goal is to become the Rank One Team
- This might seem overwhelming, but for the most part your roster is passively upgraded
- Every 6 months, you get an Ao Haru Showdown Event
- In this event, your face off against an enemy NPC roster in a team trial format
- Beating enemies allows you to get boosted team stats and raise your team rank

How To Raise Your Team
You start the Unity Cup scenario with one Uma for your career run. On Turn 3, your Support Umas will join the team followed by 4 default Umas. Your Support Umas will still have the same Bond Gauge that you should focus on filling for your Rainbow Trainings.

However, this time, each member of your team will also have a Flame Gauge bar. When you do a Flame Up training, it will boost that Uma’s personal stats and also increase their Flame Gauge.
Once the Flame Gauge maxes out, you can do a one time Spirit Explosion that will give your Uma some stats. Additionally, your main Uma will also get some bonus stats based on the training that you popped it on, as well as random skills hints.
Keep in mind that you can save the explosion for future turns so you can pop it when it lands on a stat you want. But don’t leave it for too long, as these explosions are essential for showdowns.
Make sure to do them at the end of your run to ensure that no explosions are left wasted.
Additionally, the stats of your team also determine facility levels in this scenario. Previously, four whole trainings used to equal one level. Putting the maths aside, your facility levels will be much higher compared to the URA scenario.
If you’re wondering which training to prioritize, we still recommend rainbow training for the raw stats alone. However, if you don’t have Rainbows and need to pick a training, Flame Training is definitely the way to go for a strong team roster in the Unity Cup.

Showdown Choices
Before we go into what you need to pick for Ao Haru showdowns, let’s see how they work in the Unity Cup:
- Each showdown gives you three difficulty options to choose from based on their rank: Top, Middle, Bottom
- The higher the team rank, the more your rank will increase for beating them
- In the end, you will need to reach a high enough rank to face Team Zenith in the final showdown.
Based on this, there are two consistent showdown paths that you want to aim for to give you the best results:
- 1-1-1-2 i.e. Top, Top, Top, and Middle in the difficulty options
- 2-1-1-1 i.e. Middle, Top, Top, Top.
You can certainly lose a showdown and still make it to Team Zenith. However, this will cause you to lose out on stats which will impact your run. So, try to go with the above options for the best results and top stats.
Selecting the top option as your first pick can be a bit of a gamble though since both you and your opponent have low stats. However, if you have had a lot of flame training, you can certainly go for it.
Keep in mind that you also need to constantly decide between doing flame and rainbow trainings. Sometimes, it’s best to go with rainbow trainings for the raw stats. But that doesn’t mean you ignore flame trainings.

Bonus Tips
Here are some additional tips that you can use to make your runs better:
- Losing Showdowns happens sometimes and it doesn’t mean the end of your run
- Manually adjusting your team roster is generally not worth it as the game gives you the best possible roster in most cases
- Scenario Link cards give you more gold skill options, but the default is the best one so it’s not worth changing it
- The Riko Friend card is worth considering though
- Wit training is good now and it gains value when scenarios reward you for doing any type of training.

Wrap Up
That’s everything you need to know about the Unity Cup Scenario added to Umamusume: Pretty Derby. This scenario is definitely going to be your go to, regardless of the build that you’re using. Now you’ll have a better idea of how to tackle the scenario and the showdowns you are faced with. Make sure that your team is constantly increasing in level via trainings to ensure you can compete. Good luck with winning the Unity Cup in your run!
