Sometimes a game just doesn’t give you enough information, or you miss it entirely because you weren’t looking. Whatever the case maybe it’s annoying when you don’t know how a mechanic works. In Undawn there are items you can get that has a lock icon on them. You’d think that means you can’t use them, but that’s not the case!
In this guide, we’ll show you how to unlock locked items in the game, or if you really need to unlock them in the first place! Now get your inventory up because this can be a bit weird.
How To Unlock Locked Items
Sometimes when you get an item in Undawn, either from looting or from quest rewards, you’ll see this little lock icon on it. You can see that from your inventory screen and most assume you can use these items since they’re locked. That’s just the case with that icon and how some games work!
The thing is you can actually use these items. The lock icon on top of it just means the item is bound to your account. So, if you got yourself a locked weapon and were bummed that you can’t use it, you actually can!
A bound to your account item just means you can’t trade them to other players or put them up for the market to sell. Bound items are often found in MMOs so that bots and players with too much time can’t just create new accounts and hoard items to sell by doing some easy missions.
So, the next time you see an item in the game with a lock symbol, don’t worry about it. You can still use it like any other item. Just don’t expect to trade it or sell it to another player!
That’s how locked items work in Undawn, not the best icon to show players that an item is bound. But hey now you know! Speaking of items how about you check our guide on how to repair your weapons and armors if you haven’t already?
