So… Universal Piece just dropped a fresh update, and guess who’s crashing into the scene? Yep, the Doom Slayer himself. When I saw the patch notes, I was ready to throw hands, farm bosses, and get my hands on this beast. But now that I’ve unlocked him, I’ve got a few things to say, both good and not-so-good. In this guide, I’ll walk you through everything you need to know to unlock Doomslayer, break down how strong (or not) he really is, and share some honest thoughts after testing him in real fights.
Doomslayer Guide & Showcase (HybridBlade)
Let’s not beat around the bush, Doomslayer sounds like he should be a top-tier slayer of worlds. But in practice? He’s kind of like that one flashy weapon you regret upgrading. Visually, he’s sick. Clean animations, brutal swings, all the flair.
But when it comes to raw damage and usefulness, he doesn’t quite live up to the name. We’ll get into that more later, but just know: unlocking Doomslayer (called HybridBlade in this game)isn’t a one-hour quest. It’s a grind. So here’s everything you’ll need to survive it.

Doomslayer NPC Location & Unlock Requirements
You’ll find the Doomslayer NPC hanging out on Cold Island, probably trying to stay warm like the rest of us. To even talk business with this guy, bring:
- 25x Raw Diamonds
- 8x Blade Spares
- A handful of Gems
- Some G$ cash (not too much, but still)
Blade Spares are going to be the real pain here, and you’ll only find them in one place…

Factory Raid – The Grind Begins
Welcome to the Factory Raid, your new home until you collect all 8 Blade Spares.

How to Get In: To enter the raid, you need a Factory Key, which drops from either Gassy or the Blizzard Queen at a 3% drop rate on Cold Island. Once you’ve got the key, talk to the Factory Worker NPC, hand it over, and let chaos begin.
- Up to 6 players
- 10 Waves in total
- Boss on Wave 5
- Two bosses on Wave 10
- Random bosses each time
Factory Raid Rewards
- Blade Spares (main grind target)
- Blade Spare Drop Rates:
- ~8% from Wave 10 bosses
- Final Raid Chest after completion
- Blade Spare Drop Rates:
- DoomSet Accessory
- Link Orbs for Shinron (only obtainable here!)
- Gold, Rock, and other boss drops
Factory Raid Tips
- Don’t go solo, this raid can slap.
- Top 3 damage dealers get extra boss chests
- Everyone gets the raid chest if your team finishes, even if you die mid-run

How to Get Raw Diamonds
These are way easier to farm than Blade Spares.
You can:
- Mine them on the Mining Island
- Or grab them from Factory Raid drops
If you’re already doing raids, chances are you’ll stock up on Raw Diamonds naturally along the way.

Doomslayer (HybridBlade) Showcase — The Moves
After running more Factory Raids than I’d like to admit, I finally had all 8 Blade Spares, 25 Diamonds, and the rest of the junk. Let’s see what he’s made of…
Doomslayer (HybridBlade) has two main moves, with one having both a ground and air variation:
- Z – ??? (Ground + Air version)
- X – ??? (Likely AoE or heavy finisher)
The visuals? Very clean. Polished effects, strong impact, no complaints on the style front. But the performance? Here’s where things start to drop off…
- Damage is mid-tier at best
- Monarch Daggers deal more damage and feel smoother to use
- Doomset Accessory? Sadly worse than Adapt Wheel and Cursed Scarf
I tested Doomslayer on multiple bosses, and while he looks powerful, his kit just doesn’t compete with the top weapons and gear in the game right now.
Wrap-Up: Is the Grind Worth It?
Here’s the honest truth: Doomslayer isn’t bad, but he’s not worth the grind unless you’re collecting for fun or flex. There are better weapons, better accessories, and way better time investments if you’re trying to min-max your build. If you just want to look cool while slicing things up, go for it. But if you’re looking for meta-breaking DPS? Stick to:
- Monarch Dagger
- System Breaker
- King of Hayan
Save your time and sanity. That wraps up everything you need to know about unlocking and testing out Doomslayer in Universal Piece. From farming those painful Blade Spares to finally wielding the weapon itself… it’s been one heck of a ride.
But if you’re looking for something that actually melts bosses and doesn’t leave you wondering “Was that it?”, I highly recommend checking out my guide on how to get System Breaker power in Universal Piece. The grind? Way more chaotic. The pain? Real. But the power? Oh, absolutely worth every drop of sweat and Chickens (?).
