Stardew Valley is one of the biggest indie games, especially in the farm life simulator genre. Even with the base game at release being already addicting as it is, the single developer of the game made it so more content came into the game as years went by.
The biggest addition to the game was the Ginger Island where a large tropical island can be yours to farm in and explore. It also gives you a chance to unlock and get better Iridium weapons and tools with upgrades.
In this guide, we’ll show you how to quickly unlock the farmhouse in Ginger Island.
Stardew Valley: Unlock Ginger Island Farm Quick & Easy
When you first go to Ginger Island you’ll see that most places are locked off by giant turtles. You’ll need to go near the kid to the right to spook him and then go to the right path.
Walnut #1
There you’ll see your first Golden Walnut, the things you need to unlock the farmhouse on the island.
Continue up the path until you reach the kid’s house, there you’ll see a parrot. Give the parrot the golden walnut.
Walnut #2
Next to the bird is a small plant that you can destroy with your axe to reveal another walnut. Don’t worry they don’t mind if you destroy it.
Walnut #3
Go out of the hut and to the right to another area where there’s a puzzle. Here, you don’t need to solve the puzzle just get the walnut at the bottom.
Walnut #4 & 5
Go back to the starting area and you’ll see a floating fire spirit, very spooky. Follow it and it’ll lead you inside the volcano.
Once there, you can use your watering can to create a path through the lava, instead of going up though, go left and then down.
Once you reach outside, you’ll find 2 golden walnuts nearby.
Walnut #6 & 7
Go back to the volcano and leave where you came in and go to the right. There you can find a tree you can shoot with your slingshot for a golden walnut.
There’s another walnut nearby if you use your hoe in the area where there are stones.
Walnut #8
A little bit to the south and behind a tree, you’ll see another golden walnut just hiding there.
Walnut #9
To the left side of the volcano is another tile you can use your hoe on that will give you another walnut.
Walnut #10
Continue to the left and find the hidden passage to another golden walnut nearby.
Walnut #11
Go back to the volcano and head south past the tent, go right, and on one tile you’ll see another golden walnut if you use your hoe.
Walnut #12
Further down south, you can use your hoe to dig another walnut out of the ground.
Walnut #13
There’s another spot to the left of the previous walnut.
Walnut #14
From the previous place, you can then go left through a secret passage to get to another walnut.
Now you should have enough walnuts to go back to the starting area and unlock the western part of the island. Just give the 10 walnuts to the parrot and they’ll move the turtle.
Once you go to the western part of the island you’ll see the farm area. Go to the south on the beach and you’ll find these rocks you can mine.
There’s a chance of one of them having one golden walnut.
Walnut #15 & 16
Go west and you’ll find this creature which pops out of different holes. You’ll need to hit it with water without going too close so an upgraded watering can is a must. Once watered, it’ll jump out and drop a walnut.
There’s also the shipwreck which you can go inside to get another golden walnut.
Walnut #17 & 18
Further west, past the shallow pools of water, you’ll find two digging spots with a walnut each.
Walnut #19
Head to the western part of the beach going up and you’ll find another golden walnut.
Walnut #20
Go further up hugging the edge of the beach for another golden walnut.
Walnut #21
From the parrot next to the farmhouse, go north and past the trees is another digging spot with a walnut.
Go right following the secret path and interact with the walnut at the end to get it.
Walnut #22 & 23
Go left and down through the trees to another walnut. There is also another walnut that you can get across the bridge.
Walnut #24 & 25
Go to the area where there are tiger slimes and there’s a walnut behind a tree and a digging spot usually blocked by another tree.
Remember to kill all the tiger slimes because they have a chance of dropping a walnut as well.
Walnut #26
From the area where the tiger slimes were, go southeast clearing a path to another walnut.
Walnut #27
Go back to the beach and nearby the wood piles there’s another digging spot that gives you a golden walnut.
Walnut #28
Go back to the start again and go north to the next area, there you’ll see a tree that you can go down.
Walnut #29
This will send you back to the starting area and to the last walnut on the list!
If you’ve done it right you should have enough Golden Walnuts to unlock the farmhouse! Now you don’t need to go back to Stardew Valley to sleep, you can just sleep in the farmhouse!
