Now called the Tide series, the second game is still a lot of fun to play around. There’s a lot of different and interesting characters to choose from as well as some career DLCs that you can get to spice up gameplay some more. In this guide we’ll show you how the Grail Knight plays in Vermintide 2, so that you can see what’s the best Career DLC to get for the game.

Grail Knight Guide | Warhammer Vermintide 2

The Grail Knight is a DLC career that you can get for the game. Think of it as an extra class that you can play, with different play styles and gimmicks to keep things interesting.

Without touching the whole lore of Warhammer, the Grail Knight is basically what you think an actual knight from the Arthurian legends are, except for the fact that they don’t consider peasants as humans, also they’re a weird mix of French and British cultures. Here are the things you need to know about the Grail Knight.

Quests

Every Grail Knight has a quest that they need to follow in the lore, and that also is true in the game. Although instead of looking for the grail, you’re looking for items and enemies that can buff you. At the start of a run you get two quests that you can do, 3 if you have a certain perk. Here are the possible quests you can have:

  • Slay Elites for +10% Power Level
  • Slay Specials for +5% Attack Speed
  • Slay Monsters for +10% Cooldown Regen
  • Find Tomes for +10% Damage Reduction
  • Find Grimoires for Health Regenration.

Skills and Abilities

The Grail Knight’s Main ability is Blessed Blade where he summons a blessed blade, thus the name, which strikes down enemies in front of him.

This is all of the Grail Knight’s Passive Abilities:

  • Knight’s Challenge: Deals 25%* more damage to the first Enemy hit.
  • Thirst for Glory: Increases movement speed by 10%.
  • Bastion of Bretonnia: Markus can use shields to Block Warpfire Thrower Attacks.

Talents

Like other classes, the Grail Knight has a choice of different talents for every 5 levels. Here are the Talents for each level.

Level 5

  • Lady’s Generosity: Staggering an enemy with a melee attack grants Temporary Health. Health gained is based on the strength of the stagger.
  • Lady’s Wrath: Melee killing blows grants temporary health based on the health of the slain enemy.
  • Gift of the Grail: Healing yourself with a First Aid Kit or a Healing Draught also heals your nearby allies for 20% of their maximum health. Removes any Wounds.

Level 10

  • Virtue of the Ideal: Killing enemies increases power level by 10% for 10 seconds. Stacks up to 3 times.
  • Virtue of Knightly Temper: Critical strikes instantly slay enemies if their current health is less than 4 times the amount of damage of the critical strike. Half effect versus Lords and monsters.
  • Virtue of Heroism: Power level of heavy attacks increased by 25%.

Level 15

  • Bulwark: Enemies that you stagger take 10% more damage from melee attacks for 5 seconds. Deal 20% more damage to staggered enemies. Each hit against a staggered enemy adds another count of stagger. Bonus damage is increased to 40% against enemies afflicted by more than one stagger effect.
  • Smiter: The first enemy hit always counts as staggered. Deal 20% more damage to staggered enemies. Each hit against a staggered enemy adds another count of stagger. Bonus damage is increased to 40% against enemies afflicted by more than one stagger effect.
  • Enhanced Power: Increases total Power Level by 7.5%. This is calculated before other buffs are applied.

Level 20

  • Virtue of Duty: The Lady’s Favour grants an additional Quest.
  • Virtue of Purity: Increases the potency of the blessings rewarded upon completing a Quest by 50%.
  • Virtue of the Penitent: The Lady’s Favour grants a repeatable Quest that rewards a Potion of Strength to Markus upon completion. (Potion drops on the floor if Markus’s potion slot is occupied)

Level 30

  • Virtue of Audacity: Adds a second stab attack to Blessed Blade, dealing devastating single target damage.
  • Virtue of the Impetuous Knight: Killing an enemy with Blessed Blade increases movement speed by 35% for 15 seconds.
  • Virtue of Confidence: Change Blessed Blade to a horizontal slash that Cleaves through and staggers multiple enemies.

Weapons

There are a lot of weapons that you can use for this class but there’s two that stands out. One is the Mace and Sword, which has fantastic wave clear and can clean up an entire pack of enemies easily. The other great weapon is the Bretonnian Longsword, which is a two handed sword that when you charge up a power attack, it also blocks when doing so, making it a great weapon with the proper talents.
