Echoes in Wayfinder is a very important mechanic that can change your gameplay depending on which one you use. Along with that is the Echo Fusion feature that allows one to upgrade their Echoes to the max potential.
We’ll share everything we know on the basics of Echoes and Echo Fusion, and what each numbers and description mean.
Echoes & Echo Fusion Guide
The Echoes are additional items that you can insert into character, weapon, and accessories slots. You’ve probably gotten a few from killing monsters and notice the names directly refer to the enemies you kill.
To preface, here are the basic details of an Echo. They come in four types of qualities: common, uncommon, rare, and epic. The higher the quality, the better the potential, or the stars, from upgrading them, which is represented by the number next to the stars.
Epic is the best quality, represented by the amount stars that indicate the maximum potential of the Echo’s upgrade. The name indicates the monster it drops from.
On the top right is the power cost of equipping the Echo and the type (there are currently 5 types). On the bottom right, is the Echo Fusion button that refers to the upgrade page.
Basic Echoes Management
Right off the bat, you might want to just slap any available Echoes you have in the game. But as you proceed, you’ll find yourself slowly gathering more. In fact, you’ll have way more than you need, which means you can start choosing what you actually want to use.
- Using the same Echo types lessen the Power Cost by half. This doesn’t mean you have to use the same type all the time – it simply means there’s a way to be effective in choosing the right Echoes.
- Utilize the sorting feature to find the Echo you want to use.
- Higher rank is better, but what’s even better is useful stats! If you need Crit stats and that rare Echo has it, use that one instead.
Slots will increase as you level up and so do capacity. So don’t be too sad that you can’t wear all of them!
Echo Fusion
Echo Fusion is a feature that allows you to upgrade your Echoes using other Echoes. It’s perfect since you’ll be able to find a lot of duplicates as you continue grinding in the game.
You can also use poor quality Echoes as fodders in this way, which might be something you start using when you’re higher level.
Please do note there’s currently a bug that shows the wrong value of Echoes in the Fusion page. Make sure to pick the right Echo to level up!
