Jumping into a new game and learning its mechanics can be daunting, especially if it’s a completely different genre from what you’re used to.

Even within the same genre, you can find numerous different gameplay mechanics that can be vastly different. For example, Genshin Impact is more of an Action RPG with an open world to explore while Azure Lane is more of a tactical game, but both of them are in the Gacha game genre.

Limbus Company is the newest gacha game out there that is published in the west and this one is also vastly different from most gacha games.

In this guide, we’ll show you the difference between Identities and Egos.

Limbus Company: What’s The Difference Between Egos & Identities?

The new Limbus Company game is out and with it a lot of different things to learn about. From the characters to the gameplay mechanics and what are the best builds it’s all so much for new players.

What if I told you that each character isn’t just that one character and that you don’t roll for characters but for something called Egos as well?

Let me explain the two things that make a lot of players confused.

Identities

In other Gacha games, you get a character and that’s it, maybe you get a different character in the same class, or get different costumes for them throughout the game. Most gacha games just stick with that one character though and that’s that.

Limbus Company is different since there are only 12 characters, but each character has different Identities!

Each Identity has its own different stats and abilities as well as the rarity with the highest one being the 000 and the lowers being the 0 Identities. Despite the highest rarity usually being the best ones the lower rarity identities can still work well for some play styles.

E.G.O.

When you go rolling in the Gatcha in Limbus Company you might have noticed that you not only get characters and identities but also EGOs, what are these things anyway. Well, they’re the rarest things you can roll for, with the chances being in the single digits.

Think of EGOs as special character-specific equipment or abilities that can vastly help you in the game.

Each Identity can have multiple EGOs and each one of them has different passives and you can even level them up.

Congratulations you now know the difference between EGOs and Identities in Limbus Company, now go out there and try to get all of them!

Remember though, this is a gacha game, so gamble in moderation!
