You might stumble upon a special pocket watch during one of your early Expeditions in Elden Ring: Nightreign. This is, more specifically, the “Old Pocketwatch” Relic. Aside from being a strong early-game Relic, it seems to have a special use as well… you just need to know where to go to use it, which is what we’ll tell you in this quick guide!

Where To Use The Pocket Watch | Elden Ring: Nightreign

Once you have the Old Pocketwatch Relic in your possession, stay within the Roundtable Hold and speak to The Priestess. Her location can vary, but she seems to always stay near the roundtable site of Grace. Either way, you should now see the option to “Show her the old pocketwatch.”

If you don’t get this dialogue option, you may need to switch characters. For some reason, certain characters seem to not get the prompt! Switching to Wylder seems to be the best bet for making the dialogue option show up.

Anyway, The Priestess will say she had misplaced the timepiece and asks you to return it to her. Just select “Give it to her” and you’ll see a short cutscene of The Priestess revealing her true nature. Don’t worry, you’ll still be able to use the Old Pocketwatch as a Relic afterward!

After the cutscene, The Duchess will become one of the playable Nightfarers. There are no other uses for the pocket watch. Well, I mean, you can still use it as a pretty powerful early game Relic, of course! But it seems to have no more uses for characters’ quests or anything of the sort.

If you still don’t have the Old Pocketwatch Relic, it seems to be a guaranteed drop after you defeat Gladius, Beast of Night for the first time. Alternatively, you might get it as a random reward after a failed Expedition, regardless of progress.

Nonetheless, that’s all there is to know about where to use the pocket watch in Elden Ring: Nightreign. You can now freely play as The Duchess whenever you wish, but she’s only one of the two unlockable Nightfarers in the game. Gamer cursed by being interested by most games, resulting in a ridiculous backlog he’ll never be able to conquer. Been gaming for over two decades now! Few things exemplify his wide variety in gaming tastes as the fact that he’s a big fan of both Souls games and the Atelier series at the same time. Also a big fan of Yakuza/Like a Dragon, Deadly Premonition, Zero Escape, and Dead Rising, among others. Considers Lost Judgment and Sekiro to both be masterpieces.
