An unnamed militia soldier struggles to stay alive in a dark fictional version of the Late Han Dynasty where monsters afflict the Three Kingdoms in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, an exciting and dramatic action thriller.

Here we shall give you an ultimate beginner’s guide to make your overall experience of this adventure easier and better.

Let’s get started.

Ultimate Beginner’s Guide – Wo Long Fallen Dynasty

Morale System

One of the first and essential things that you need to know about is the moral system. You can spot your reputation and morale in the top right corner next to the mini-map.

This represents your current reputation and this is how you read it:

  • 10 – the current fortitude rank
  • 1/3 – you can find 3 of the big rest flags
  • 0/2 – you can find 2 of the smaller flags

The higher you raise them up, the more DMG you will do in the exact same level that you’ve found them in. For example, if you see a monster with a 13 on top of its head, you need to raise more flags so that you will be able to actually take it on.

That is why it is crucial that you look for the flags and increase your Fortitude rank to defeat all the monsters.

Deflects

A big error that a lot of beginners do is blocking enemy attacks. We do not recommend blocking at all. Simply do the deflect move when the enemy is about to attack you and at the very last moment.

As you do it more successfully, you will see a meter fill up under the HP of the monster. Once it fills up the monster will stagger for a second. This is your moment to do a big attack on them.

Do deflects on all the monsters and bosses in the game. It is a must.

Summoning Ally

Do not forget to use an ally in your adventures.

You can have up to 2 allies at the max beside you. Choose and summon them from the menu and make sure that you level them up if you like their skills and companionship.

So just cycle through this list and when you want an ally, click the Confirm button and you’ll get them next to you in certain stages.

Bond With Ally

When you start using an ally, and you want to get their gear and cool looks, you need to bond with them. This will give you tons of benefits in terms of better damage and skills by them, but once the bond is maximum, you can use their gear and outfit.

How To Know When To Level Up

When you’re fighting over and over again with tons of enemies and if you die you will lose most of the points that you have achieved. To know when to level up without losing the many resources you have achieved is to look at the color in the bottom left corner.

So just keep an eye out on the yellow counter, and make sure to level up.

Because if you don’t, you might end up dying and losing the level altogether.

Respec Your Character

If you have spent your points on some skills or perks that you didn’t want to use at all, and you’re thinking you have to re-load a saved file, you are in luck.

In this game, you are able to respec your character for free.

In the very early stages of the game, about 5 hours in, you are going to find an old man NPC named Zuo Ci who will be inside the small shack on the beginning hill and cliff. You will go through him in the main story.

Basically, you lower a certain virtue that you’ve collected and raise another virtue that you have wanted. It is as simple as that.

Salvage Over Sell

Unless you need money, you are always going to want to salvage your gear that you don’t need anymore. You are going to get really important materials and resources that will make your overall character much stronger. This is especially the case in the later stages of the game.

Sometimes you even get skills as well.

How To Farm Levels

This game is based on a leveling-up system which means that you need to farm and level up to progress easily through it. You can certainly choose your favorite maps and do them, but there are some that are way easier that need much less time in completing too.

So just farm and re-do these missions that you have learned and know how to pass over and over again until you get those much-needed points for leveling up.

Small Bears Are Useful

When you come across the small bears in the game, which is totally random, don’t immediately attack them. You can give them gear and feed them.

Once you do so, they will destroy the gear that you’ve given, but in return give you an accessory that you might need.

There are some very rare and cool accessories that you’ll definitely want. Instead of buying them for an expensive amount, you can get them for a cheap and weak gear piece.

These are the most important things that you need to know as a beginner of Wo Long Fallen Dynasty. We hope that this guide has cleared out some things for you. Have fun!
