World of Stands just got a huge new update introducing the desert region, which is heavily based around Egypt and just the 3rd part of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure in general, which is partially set there. In this new zone, there are a lot of original characters to meet and do quests for, and in this guide, we will show you how to complete their tasks!

All Side Quest Locations & Completion Guide

As mentioned earlier, all of these quests will be at the new locations that were added in the latest update. These will be somewhat ordered in a way that you can kind of run into them naturally as you explore the new regions without any specific goal in mind.

Side Quest #1 – The Thirsty Man

As you first enter the Valley of the Sun, you will very likely stumble into the Thirsty Man. He is just a regular guy sitting beside a rock formation. You cannot miss him, as he has a large blue exclamation mark over his head.

Upon speaking with him and accepting his quest, you will get the objective to destroy three cacti to collect water. This is incredibly simple, as you just need to punch cacti and return to the man.

There are a lot of cacti spread all around the immediate vicinity, and they have a red flower up top making them stick out even more from the surroundings. When you’re done gathering water, talk to him again and you will be rewarded with variousitems.

Side Quest #2 – Botanist Bayana

A little further ahead, you will run into Botanist Bayana at a campsite called the Desert Outpost. There are other quests in this area, but let’s start out with her first.

Speak with the botanist to learn more about a certain red flower that can “help a person find true love”. According to her, it can only be found in wet areas that are surrounded by a lot of heat.

Once you have accepted her quest, leave the outpost by running straight ahead and passing to the right under the large rock archway. From there, continue running forward until you reach a large strip of sand to the left. Continue through these barren dunes.

At the end, you will eventually see a Sphinx and a golden chest that you are free to loot if you haven’t yet. Right behind the Sphinx will be a river, and you should be able to see the red flower on an island. This is what you’re looking for.

After grabbing the Lover’s Lotus from between the two palm trees, you can either retrace your steps or just open the Travel menu and fast travel straight to the Desert Outpost. Give the flower to the botanist and you will be rewarded with some Stardust!

Side Quest #3 – The Crazy Cat Lady

After the botanist, you can then talk to the crying Crazy Cat Lady in the neighboring tent. If you accept her quest, you will have to find her missing cats, which is why she has been sobbing all day.

You will get hints on how you can find each cat. To save you some time, the list below will tell you exactly where they are followed by a picture of their hiding spots:

  • Cat #1. Megatron – This black cat can be found near the merchants, as the crazy cat lady told you earlier. This cat isn’t really hiding, so just walk over to him and pick him up.
  • Cat #2. Pepper – This one is said to like hiding in high places, which is exactly where you’ll find her. Pepper the white cat can be found on the archway leading out of the outpost. You just need to climb up there via the rocks nearby.
  • Cat #3. Luna – Finally, Luna can be found at the entrance of the mines, which is literally right behind the Crazy Cat Lady’s tent.

Once you have all three cats with you, return to the Crazy Cat Lady and you will be rewarded with various items, including some arrows and Locacaca Fruit.

Side Quest #4 – Junkie Jasim

Next up, in one corner away from all the other NPCs, you will find Junkie Jasim. He has a green parrot on his shoulder and a very questionable outfit and hairstyle, so you can’t miss him.

Upon speaking to him, he will ramble on about Stardust, which he claims that the nearby merchants have a lot of. Needless to say, he will ask you to get some for him.

This one is really quick, as you can find some of that purple Stardust inside a box beside one of the stalls. Just grab some and return to Junkie Jasim to complete the quest and get some free stuff for your troubles!

Side Quest #5 – The Relic Collector

Chilling on his own away from the other NPCs is the Relic Collector. Upon accepting his quest, he will ask you to look for the location in the painting that is beside him. This is actually just the pyramids that are beyond the rock formation behind his camp.

Just navigate your way around or over the rock formation and proceed to the place with lots of pyramids. To the left of the largest pyramid is going to be a pillar that has an Eye of Horus painted on it.

This is the location from the painting. Simply approach the Eye of Horus and then hold E to claim the secrets it is hiding. After that, return to the Relic Collector to receive your reward of a handful of items!

NOTE: This quest is required in order to find a hidden golden chest under the pyramid, so consider getting that as well while you are at it!

Side Quest #6. The Sun Worshipper

Once you are done with the previous quest, you can find the Sun Worshipper on the rock right above the Relic Collector. You may have even spotted this person earlier if you have your camera zoomed out.

Upon talking to him, he will ramble on about the sun and how we should embrace it. By accepting his quest, you will be tasked with defeating The Sun stand user.

To find him, just jump down and proceed down to the area with a lot of rock formations. At your first opportunity to turn right, you should be able to see a small moving sun, which is the stand you need to beat.

If you are familiar with JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, it won’t really help you with this. Instead of being an annoying long range fighter, The Sun here will actually put up more of a fight than its anime or manga counterpart.

Just beat him up and return to the Sun Worshipper to complete the quest. You will be rewarded some Stardust and Locacaca Fruit for all of your hard work!

Side Quest #7. The S.W. Organization Worker

Next up, we will now be heading over to the next zone. Leave the Desert Outpost through the archway that we went through during the Botanist’s quest. Keep going until you reach the fork at the very end.

Instead of heading left to the desert leading up to the Sphinx from earlier, turn to the right and continue to follow the road until you reach a campsite with white tents. The S.W. Organization Worker here will give you a new quest.

He will tell you about a dangerous man in the desert who has some water-based powers. You will now have to defeat him in order to finish the quest.

Once you are finished talking to the S.W. Organization Worker, head to the left and go through the hole in the rock formation to reach the desert. Keep going forward while hugging the right wall.

Eventually, you will stumble into N’Doul, who is the stand user that you need to defeat. He is level 38 and is fairly easy to kite. A far cry from what he is in the source material.

Upon defeating him, you might also get some free Stardust as a drop. Return to the S.W. Organization Worker to claim some free arrows and even more Stardust potentially!

Side Quest #8. The Rugby Coach

To the left of the previous NPC will be the Rugby Coach. If you’re wondering why there would be a rugby coach in the desert, I have no idea, but he does have a side quest for you to do!

Once you accept his quest, you will be tasked with completing a time trial. To do this, you must follow the blue circles that suddenly appear nearby, starting with the hole in the rock formation that you went through in the previous quest.

You will be given a little over five minutes to complete the course, which will reward you with some free Stardust at the very end. You don’t need to talk to the NPC again, as the quest will essentially finish itself as you reach the end of the course.

Side Quest #9. John Pharaoh’s Dilemma

At the pyramids area, where you found the location for the painting earlier, you will also find John Pharaoh. He is a well-spoken man who will ask you to defeat 3 dessert bandits nearby to find his headpiece.

There will be packs of relatively high level desert bandits (30 and above) just a few steps away from him and his carpets. Once you have defeated all three, simply return to John Pharaoh to receive some free Stardust.

Side Quest #10. The Master Blacksmith

Going back to the Desert Outpost from much earlier, you will find the Master Blacksmith under one of the tents. He will task you with finding one Meteorite Ingot

This is the reason why we ignored this until now. Basically a Meteority Ingot can be purchased from the Desert Outpost merchant for a whopping 50 Stardust. You might have enough by now if you followed this guide in order so far.

Once that is done, you’re actually not finished just yet. He will then claim that he has the knowledge to create a Cursed Blade. There are requirements to finding these, but they are the following:

  • 1x Cursed Hilt
  • 1x Meteorite Ingot
  • 1x Bottle of Purified Water
  • 1x Stardust

Completing the Cursed Blade is not mandatory. After your dialogue with him, the side quest should be completed and you will immediately be rewarded for your efforts.

Side Quest #11. Blademaster Ari

Next up is the Blademaster Ari NPC who can be found lurking around in the desert. She sticks out like a sore thumb due to her fashion choices, and her tasks involve killing the following enemy types:

  • 3x Corrupt Swordsman
  • 2x Elite Swordman
  • 1x Disciple of Anubis

After accepting her quest, just walk around and you’ll stumble into these enemies. These mobs can be found randomly just a few steps away from her, and I will be very surprised if you can’t find a single one.

Just kill the required number of enemies and claim your reward for some more of that valuable Stardust. This may be repeatable so you can keep farming if you want, though we are unsure if there is a cooldown.

Side Quest #12. The Rival Bandit

The Rival Bandit can be found just a few steps away from Blademaster Ari, and he has a very similar task for you. Basically, you will need to kill the following mob types:

  • 3x Desert Bandits
  • 2x Bandit Marksmen
  • 1x Bandit Captain – After killing one, beat up at least two of these and leave them at low HP afterwards for the next quest.

These can be found in the bandit camp just ahead, with the entrance being marked by a wooden gate with unlit torches attached to it. Just beat them all up and you should get a decent amount of Stardust as a reward!

Side Quest #13. Busy Businessman

Finally, the Busy Businessman can be found back at the Desert Outpost. Talk to him and he will ask you to defeat two Bandit Captains while carrying a barrel of goods that can be found in their camp.

This is why you had to beat up a couple of them during the last one. By leaving them at a low HP, you can kill them in one shot after taking the barrel. This will let you stroll on back to the businessman without damaging the goods.

And that wraps up this entire guide, as there aren’t any other side quests left as far as we know. If you need some more Stardust, consider spamming Blademaster Ari’s or the Rival Bandit’s quests for some quick and easy farm.
