World of Warcraft Wrath of the Lich King is finally upon us! It is the most beloved Expansion of the WoW universe and for a big reason. It offers one of the most unique and interesting characters and the most brutal new world that you’re able to play in. In this guide, we will be talking about Hunter Pre-Patch and how to get to level 80 in the shortest amount of time. Let’s get started.
Hunter Pre-Patch Guide | Spec, Professions, Talents, Pets & Rotation – WotLK Classic Wow
This is a guide that will help you get to a level 80 very easily by telling you the best specs, professions, talents, pets, and which rotations you should be using.
Specs For The Hunter
You will want to stick with the Marksman Hunter type in order to have the easiest and best road to a level 80. This build and spec that you should be using are best for the High Mobility. You will have a much easier time Kiting as well as lots of burst damage.
It is a very mobile class and the damage that you’d be dealing to NPCs and players will be the best thing ever. You will be able to kill enemies probably in the first seconds of fighting if placed in a 1v1 situation.
You will want to stick with:
- Aimed Shot – lots of damage
- Disengage – throws you back and gives you the mobility to attack more
- Chimera Shot – a big burst of damage
- Readiness – reset very crucial skills needed for fighting
The only negative that this Marksman spec has is the trap. The trap still feels very clunky when placed and usually it just places under your feet. Most of the time this will get your enemy to miss it entirely, and might lead to your death.
Professions For The Hunter
The Professions for the Pre-Patch Hunter are the Engineering and Mining.
Engineering will allow you to create very cool items. You will be able to make mounted bikes that will give you a ton of gold when sold. Other than decorative pieces you will be able to make bombs which and items that will aid you in battles. This can be the extra edge needed when fighting PvP players or NPC bosses.
The Mining profession goes very well with the Engineering one. Lots of the ores that you’ll need to turn into Ingots are made by mining with a Pickaxe. So that is why you’ll want it. Plus, mining some very rare ores and selling it on the market is very profitable! Highly recommended!
To get very good tips on how to maximize these professions and get them to a Grand Master level you will want to follow the wow-professions website. It will have everything that you’ll need to know.
Talents For The Hunter
There are multiple talents that you will want to stick with when playing the Hunter. If you’re going and focusing entirely on the PvP aspect of the game and you’ll want to destroy enemies, well simply follow this build right here:
It is a build that will mostly stay with the Marksmanship trait. You will be using 10 of the Survival talent points as well to get a perfect combination of both.
When using these skills you will be able to throw out a lot of damage in a very short amount of time. When combining this dmg with the survivability skills from the other skill tree you will be actually having 3 sets of attack turns before the enemy will be really on you.
During this time you will be able to kill any enemy that might be coming for you. Highly effective!
Glyphs For The Hunter
The best glyphs for the Pre-Patch hunter are the Glyph of Aimed Shot and the Glyph of Disengage.
Both of these glyphs are primarily for cooldowns. It might seem like little time those 2 and 5 seconds, but if you’re a Veteran Hunter player you will know how to use that time to your advantage!
Pets For The Hunter
This is all according to your playstyle. But if you want to focus on PvP the most we recommend using the Black Widow Spider as your main pet.
It looks the coolest and it deals the most amount of damage. Other than that, it has a ton of slowing-down effects that can make you the controller of the battlefield in no time. The Web ability of the Spider is downright the best Pet ability in the game!
Another good Pet to use is the Crab. You can choose any of the Crabs in the game. The main reason being is that it has slowing down abilities and much more HP, but deals less damage. But it has the Pin skill which stuns enemies.
You can choose between both of them and make sure that you’re using some macros to better control your Pets!
Stats For The Hunter
These are the stats that you will want to focus on when playing the Pre-Patch Hunter:
- 5% Hit Cap
- Resilience
- Agility
- Attack Power
- Crit %
You will want to focus exactly on the pattern as they are shown. So just be on the lookout when getting gear or trinkets for your Hunter for these.
Gems For The Hunter
These are the Gems that you will want to stick with when playing the Hunter in Wrath of the Lich King. They will give you the extra stats that you’ll need to beat off any enemy in the game. And don’t forget, they are as important as your gear!
Best Gear For The Hunter
This is what you’ll want when playing for PvP with the Lich King Hunter. You will be having the most amount of damage with these items as well as a couple of survivability skills to use when stunned or dazed.
Rotations For The Hunter
Rotations are how to use the skills of the Hunter in precise order and time to get the most amount of them. This is our recommendation on how to use them:
- Hunter Mark on your Target
- Rapid Fire
- Maintain Serpent Sting
- Chimera Shot
- Aimed Shot
- Arcane Shot
- Steady Shot
And that is it! That is all that you’ll need to know when playing the Hunter in the Wrath of the Lich King. We hope that this guide was helpful and made you a better Hunter overall. A big thank you to the YouTube user Western.
