Yelan is a 5-star Hydro character that uses the bow. She is a great character for Hydro elemental reactions and as a support DPS for the team. This guide will show you how to build Yelan and which artifacts suit her best.
Yelan Build – Genshin Impact
Yelan is a 5-star Hydro character that uses her bow to damage enemies. You can see her skills below.
- Stealthy Bowshot – Stealthy Bowshot is Yelan’s normal and charged attack. Yelan’s Charged aim attack will deal Hydro damage. When she spends 5 seconds out of combat, her next charged attack will have 80% decreased charge time and deal AoE hydro damage depending on her health.
- Lingering Lifeline – Lingering Lifeline is Yelan’s Elemental Skill, pressing this allows her to move swiftly. Holding it will give her movement speed and resistance to interruption. Any opponents on her path will be marked with Lifeline and will get AoE hydro damage after the skill ends.
- Depth-Clarion Dice – Depth Clarion Dice is the elemental burst of Yelan. Activating it will deal AoE hydro damage and will summon Exquisite Throw. This will follow Yelan and deal extra Hydro damage.
- Turn Control – You can unlock this at Ascension 1. If your party has 1 to 4 Elemental types, Yelan’s HP will increase by 6% to 30%.
- Adapt with Ease – This passive unlock at Ascension Phase 4. This passive increases the damage of exquisite throws by 1%. The longer it is on the field, the more damage it gives.
- Necessary Calculation – This passive is unlocked automatically, and you will get 25% more rewards if you use Yelan on Liyue’s expedition.
Playstyle and Weapon Options
Yelan’s Playstyle relies heavily on her being an elemental applicator. She can apply the Hydro element even when she is not on the field due to her burst. She is great with Pyro DPS characters like Yoimiya, who needs to be active on the field all the time.
For her weapons, you can choose between the following weapons below:
- Favonius Warbow
- Sacrificial Bow
- Fading Twilight
- Mooun’s Moon
- Aqua Simulacra
- Elegy for the End
Artifacts and Stats
When it comes to artifacts, you can choose to use 4 pieces of Emblem of Severed Fate. For her 2 piece options with the Emblem, you can choose either the Heart of Depth or Tenacity of Millelith. You can also choose to add 2 pieces of Noblesse Oblige with 2 pieces of Emblem of Severed Fate.
The Exile and the Scholar are great early-game sets for Yelan. If you have the Aqua Simulacra, you can prioritize ER instead of HP. For the ER weapons, prioritize HP% instead of ER.
Team Compositions
Yelan is a great hydro applicator and burst DPS. She pairs well with Yoimiya alone. You can also pair her with Hu Tao but it is best to add Xingqiu to the mix. You can also add Zhongli for defense or Kazuha for Swirl damage.
A four-element team with Yelan can consist of Raiden Shogun, Yelan, Kazuha, and Bennett for support.
