Zenless Zone Zero has been making quite a few changes to the game, with many of these coming with the version 1.4 update. The new content also includes the new Agent Harumasa that a lot of players are excited to use in their teams.

Harumasa will be available for free to all players. Of course, you’ll want to make the most of Harumasa so that he can give you the most value in the game. Sp, we’ll look at everything you need to know about him. Without further delay, let’s dive in!

Harumasa Complete Guide

Harumasa is a new Agent who stands out because of his bow as a primary weapon. While he does not equal the power of premium characters, he’s still pretty close and a viable option.

If you’re only interested in trying him out in different teams, check out our best teams for harumasa guide.

Kit Overview

Starting off, we’ll look at Harumasa’s kit and see how he works in Zenless Zone Zero.

The first thing we’ll look at is his unique mechanic, which is Electro Quivers. This mechanic allows him to shoot arrows that stay embedded into a target and ground, effectively acting like traps that can be triggered.

Next, alongside his five string basic attack, he has a charged attack called Falling Feather. Casting his charged attack, chained attack or EX special will generate 2/6/6 electro quivers respectively.

Furthermore, when an Attribute Anomaly like Burn, Freeze etc. is triggered, we will get six more quivers. When there are six of these quivers on the field, casting and hitting an enemy with a charged attack will cause them to explode.

Doing so will mark an enemy with an X Mark. Casting a charged attack against a stunned enemy or an enemy under influence of an attribute anomaly will generate two stacks of X Mark. You can have a maximum of 8 stacks against an enemy.

When an enemy is X Marked, Harumasa’s dash attack is transformed into an enhanced version and he can perform three different slashes. Each dash attack consumes two marks. Unfortunately, the game does not provide you with a way to keep track of these stacks.

In total, you can do a maximum of 4 dash attacks. However, you can also pre place quivers on enemies that already have an X Mark. This helps a lot with his rotation as it allows you to do 12 dash attacks in a single stun window.

Besides that, his basic attack consists of a mix of melee and ranged attacks. His dodge will also rarely come into play as the enemy is stunned when he is on the field. Finally, his ultimate is mostly used for damage.

Harumas’s core skill is Day Break, which provides a free 25% Crit Rate to his enhanced dash attack. He also gets up to 72% Crit Damage12% stacking up to 6 times each time his enhanced dash attacks crit.

Finally, we have his additional ability, Overclock. This ability requires him to be paired with a Stun or Anomaly character. When this condition is met, he gains a free 40% damage bonus. His charged attack will also generate two stacks of X Mark.

So, the important takeaways from his kit are:

  • X Mark enables enhanced dash attacks
  • Use EX special/ Charged Attack/ Chained Attack/ First Basic 5 Attacks before his Chain to generate electric quivers
  • Using Charged Attack after 6 electric quivers are on the field will generate 6 stacks of X mark or 8 stacks if the enemy is stunned
  • Each enhanced dash attack will consume two stacks. (use max 4 times).

Combos

Now that we understand Harumasa’s kit, it’s time to see how his combos work. Here are some combos we recommend using with him:

  • Enhanced Dash Attack (1) + Enhanced Dash Attack (2) + Enhanced Dash Attack (3) + Enhanced Dash Attack (2)
    • Since your basic attacks are replaced by dash attacks when an enemy has X Mark, you can just spam the basic attack button to do this
  • Ex Special + Charged Attack
    • You can use this to generate 6 electric quivers and instantly detonate them for X Mark on an enemy
  • Enhanced Dash Attack (1, 2, 3) + Basic Attack (4, 5) + Charged Attack
    • This will generate 6 electric quivers and detonate them for X mark, if used after chain attack

This brings us to the rotation that you should employ with Harumasa per stun window rotation for maximum effectiveness. We’ll assume that all 6 electric quivers are already on the field due to a previous proceed Anomaly effect or an EX special that you’ve cast previously.

Here is how the rotation works:

  • Charged Attack + Enhanced Dash Attack (1) + Chain + Enhanced Dash Attack (1, 2, 3) + Charged Attack + Enhanced Dash Attack (1, 2, 3, 2) + Basic Attack (4, 5) or EX Special + Charged Attack + Enhanced Dash Attack (1, 2, 3, 2) + Ultimate
