Corsair is one of the few keyboard manufacturers that actually put macro keys on their keyboards, for those that play MMO’s. You can tell that this was made for gamers in mind because of that. Other than the usual RGB lighting that can all be programmed individually with Corsair’s RGB software, you also have the media buttons that allow you to control your music or movies with the press of a button. All keyboards must have this, as it makes life that much easier.

This keyboard is also wireless, which is great because some people have gaming PC’s set up to large 4K TV’s, which means having a wired keyboard connection that stretches from your PC to the couch is not ideal. What We Don’t Like

While the design is very good, it’s a shame that this keyboard doesn’t have a tenkeyless version. Many of the other keyboard manufacturers are able to produce and sell tenkeyless versions of their popular keyboards. Corsair, however, hasn’t capitalized on that yet.

This keyboard also has some issues with keys getting stuck. Since this is not a traditional mechanical keyboard like many others and Corsair had to design it differently, you will find that pressing a key will sometimes make it stuck. Plus, there is also the fact that due to how light and slim this keyboard is, it is much more susceptible to damage.

It’s a great keyboard overall, just not a traditional mechanical keyboard. If you’re looking for something that has that more traditional look and feel to it, then you’ll have to look elsewhere. But other than that, this is a fantastic keyboard.

Now if you’re looking for something that has a little bit more weight and durability to it, HyperX Alloy Elite 2 offers just that. It’s got everything you want from a mechanical gaming keyboard: RGB, dedicated media buttons, and that sweet, sweet click-clack sound every time you press a key. Your RGB lights can also be changed and controlled by HyperX’s software on your PC.

While all of that is good and well, this unfortunately does not have wireless capabilities. This keyboard is 100% fully wired, and there’s nothing really wrong with that. Alloy Elite 2 is marketed to be more close to your gaming setup than anything else, which is why there is no wireless version. But if you do want a wireless version, you can get the much more compact, 60% HyperX Alloy Origins.

While that does have wireless capabilities and a much more compact frame, you are sacrificing functions like the numpad, the dedicated media buttons, and the arrow keys. It’s nice to look at, but you’ll soon come to mix the functions a full-size keyboard can give you.

Aside from wireless, Alloy Elite 2 can be used for consoles as well. PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, consoles are all compatible with the Alloy Elite 2, which is a pretty cool feature to have.

Not only that, but the HyperX Pudding Keycaps allow for a much more brighter and brilliant solid color display that really makes the keyboard shine. It’s also incredibly durable, as it is a much more traditional mechanical keyboard. Plus, compatible with consoles as well.

What We Don’t Like

The keyboard does not have wireless capability, which is a total bummer because HyperX does not have any other full-size keyboard with wireless capability. Other sizes like the Alloy Origins have wireless capability. It also doesn’t come with a wrist rest, which isn’t a big deal, but other companies usually include a wrist rest with their keyboards. For this one, you will need to buy a bundle with it.

Besides the lack of wireless capability, the HyperX Alloy Elite 2 is a top-of-the-line keyboard that offers a great feeling to the user whenever they use it for work or gaming. It’s definitely one that many should consider getting if they want a more traditional mechanical keyboard.

However, despite everyone memeing on Logitech, they have been around for quite a long time now. Some might call them one of the biggest computer tech companies in the world. They provide cameras, speakers, headsets, controllers, mice, and keyboards.

Logitech’s G915 LIGHSPEED is, in my opinion, Logitech’s best-looking gaming keyboard. One look at its sleek design and you will fall in love because I sure did.

From the LIGHTSPEED wireless technology to the 5 programmable G-keys (or macros keys), as well as the different buttons for the media center.

The keyboard also has different options to choose from. You can go for the full-size version, or the tenkeyless version if you want something smaller, and it doesn’t even sacrifice the media buttons for it! Don’t like the wireless look? Not to worry, because you can choose between a wireless model or a wired model. If you want a different key switch, then you can choose between Clicky, Linear, and Tactile.

It is incredible how well thought out this keyboard is and how Logitech knows its audience. It’s one of the reasons why this keyboard is so sought out. However, it does come with a hefty price tag, and it is understandable why. This keyboard is just pure quality, and you can’t go wrong with it. But if you’re on a budget, then this keyboard might not be for you.

While we understand why it’s expensive due to how high quality the keyboard is, I can’t recommend this keyboard to those who aren’t going to make full use of all of its features. Also, no wrist rest is negative. All premium keyboards need to have wristrests included.

SteelSeries is another gaming company that properly excels in gaming peripherals. You may know them for their fantastic headphones and microphones, but did you know they also make keyboards? And these keyboards are top-notch in quality and performance.

While some keyboards focus on having a ton of features for games to utilize, this keyboard focuses on having the best gameplay performance. Introducing the Omnipoint 2.0 switches. These are switches created by SteelSeries that enhance the reaction time of a key press in games. Not only does it sound good, but it also allows you to have 11x faster response and 10x faster actuation compared to conventional mechanical keyboards.

With these switches, you can do 2 in 1 actions. For example, do you want to walk during gameplay? You can program your W key to walk when you press the key lightly.

But if you want to sprint without holding the Shift key like most games, you can program the W key to sprint when you press the key deeper. Every key is programmable and it allows for the best performance in games if you master the keyboard.

Unfortunately, SteelSeries focused on gameplay performance too much that they decided not to add things like a media center or wireless capability, so one might say that this keyboard is just made for one thing, and that’s gameplay.

What We Like

With its dedication to better gameplay performance, there’s not much to say than it did a good job. The Omnipoint 2.0 switches are fantastic, and if you are ever thinking of customizing your own keyboard, you should consider getting these switches if you want to focus on gameplay performance.

What We Don’t Like

While the keyboard is incredibly great at what it does, there’s really no reason to get this keyboard if you aren’t doing other things. There’s no media center, no wireless capability, and it’s very expensive. It’s not worth the price tag for what is essentially a keyboard that responds to your inputs better.

It’s a great keyboard to have for games, but I wouldn’t recommend it at full price. I would honestly wait until it’s on sale for 50% off or more. You can find better keyboards near the price range that can give you more functions while still giving you good gameplay performance.

5. Razer BlackWidow V3 Pro

I’m a Razer guy. My peripherals are all Razer because I like their products. That said, I’m not going to be biased because I like Razer. But I do love their Razer BlackWidow V3 Pro keyboard. It’s a keyboard that I have been using for a while now, and I love everything about it. From the wireless capability to the media center, I absolutely love it.

The BlackWidow V3 Pro offers different colored switches. The yellow switches are my personal favorite. It’s marketed as a silent alternative to the green clicky switches, but it’s not really that silent if you ask me. However, I do love the sound it makes as I use the keyboard. It’s got that right amount of click to it that makes it so satisfying without being annoying.

The Doubleshot ABS keycaps are also great. These keycaps are made to withstand intense use like raging or speedtyping. It also has some of the best media controls I have ever seen, especially the volume control. The little circle at the top right side of the keyboard is a dial that you can spin to lower and increase your volume.

Regarding its wireless nature, I would recommend not using wireless too much. The battery life is not good, but it’s not bad either. It can last a full day of gaming and work before losing battery, which is great. The problem is that charging the keyboard takes too long. I can charge the keyboard for an entire day and it will only reach 50%. I’m not sure if it’s my keyboard that’s the problem, but many others are also reporting on it.

If you want a tenkeyless version of the Razer BlackWidow, there is the BlackWidow V3 Mini. It’s essentially a mini version of the BlackWidow V3, just without the numpad, and media center, and it is fully wireless.

What We Like

The Razer BlackWidow V3 Pro keyboard is the perfect balance between a gaming keyboard and a regular home-use keyboard. You can connect via wired or wirelessly using the HyperSpeed technology or Bluetooth (I recommend HyperSpeed). It also comes with a free leather wrist rest for maximum comfort while working.

What We Don’t Like

Overall, this is a fantastic keyboard that’s being held back by bad battery life. It doesn’t have all the extra buttons that Corsair and Logitech have, but it does cover the important parts of what makes a gaming mechanical keyboard good.
