Palia: Roadmap & Upcoming Content

Get ready for Palia!

Palia is an adventure and life simulation game developed by Singluarity6 Corporation. Players step foot into the fictional world of Palia, where they can manage and build their houses while farming crops and forming relationships with the town’s residents. The game takes inspiration from the critically acclaimed Stardew Valley game while improving on certain aspects. This guide will focus on the official roadmap for the game and the upcoming content.

Roadmap and Upcoming Content

The game has recently entered its closed beta phase, which allows players to experience a limited portion of the game and provide feedback to the developers for improvements. Since this game is a massively multiplayer online RPG and a free-to-play game, players can expect continuous updates and improvements for the game.

Themed Events

As part of the latest developer update, players have been told to look forward to themed events coming soon in the game. This will be a very good addition since these events not only allow players to experience something new and not in the traditional gameplay loop. Moreover, with events like these, players can expect limited-time quests and items, which can improve the overall gameplay experience.

The reason why themed events are so popular is because it provides a new experience for the players to evolve alongside the world they are in and celebrate with others. For instance, the festivals and seasonal events in Stardew Valley provide chances to not only obtain new items but also partake in new mini-games and meet new people. Lastly, themed cosmetics would be a well-received addition since, in an MMO like this, players can show their participation in these events.

New Quests and Storylines

This is arguably the largest reveal in the roadmap since an extended storyline will complement the vast world of Palia perfectly. In games such as these that are multiplayer-based, players can get bored quite easily unless there are no new quests to keep them engaged. Moreover, these quests also help to shape the lore of the world, which is something that players always look forward to.

The biggest difference between this game and its lookalikes is that, unlike the rest, it features a fully-fledged storyline that will be developed over the coming years instead of the typical inheriting the farm from grandpa scenario.

New Villagers and Friendships

Another highlight in the roadmap is the addition of new villagers to liven up your town. Having new villagers is always good as, most of the time, they bring not only new content with them but also help to keep the players engaged with their own stories. With these villagers, new friendships have also been hinted at, which could mean that there can be additional romance options available.

Decor and Customization

The roadmap also promises players more decor and character customization options. Having new furniture is always a plus point considering that you have to build and expand your house, which could use some furniture to liven it up.

Having additional character customization is definitely a plus point since we feel like this is one area that the game lacks to make up for. Customizing the appearance of a character is very important since it represents the player’s creativity. The developers have teased that one of the upcoming customization options includes Beards for all the facial hair enthusiasts out there.

Switch Release

As of now, Palia is only available on PC and not on any other platforms. However, this will be changing soon as the roadmap has confirmed that a version of the Nintendo Switch is in the works meaning that players can expect it somewhere around next year. This is great news for all handheld gamers as they will be able to experience Palia on the go.

However, the real challenge for the studio is to figure out how exactly to port the game since games using Unreal Engine 4 do not have the best track record of performing well on the Switch.

Controller Support

Even if a game is in early access, you would expect it to have controller support since you can either place it on a keyboard, mouse, or controller. Not having controller support as of now is a red flag since there is a significant portion of the fanbase that uses this medium for playing games. However, considering that it has been mentioned on the roadmap, we can hope that it is one of the first things that comes out in future updates.

Quality of Life Improvements

The last thing mentioned in the roadmap is the quality of life improvement that is coming up. These are essential for games like these that are in early access and heavily dependent on the player’s feedback. These improvements might be minor, but over time, they stack up and make the game much more enjoyable for the entire player base.

We hope that you are as excited for Palia as we are. Head over to the game’s official website and register for the closed beta if you want to experience the game before its official release. Let us know in the comments below if you have any questions or suggestions.
