You may be wondering, what is this Guardian thing in Baldur’s Gate 3? All you know is that you’re making a second character, but you don’t really know who they are and why you’re making them. With that said, I’ll try to give you as much information we have in order to clarify more things about the Guardian feature in the game. Let’s jump right into it!

What is a Guardian?

In simple terms, a Guardian is like a special friend in the game who plays a big role. They’re not part of your main team of survivors, but they’re still important. When you make your character, you also create a Guardian separately after. If you rush this part, you might not like it later in the game.

To meet your Guardian in the game, you have to do certain things related to the powers of the Tadpole inside your character’s head. When you pick certain things to say to the Tadpole during the game, you can see cool Guardian scenes when you choose to long-rest at Camp.

These scenes let you talk to and learn more about your Guardian. We don’t know exactly how to meet your Guardian for sure, but if you focus on talking to the Tadpole, you’ll probably get to see your Guardian more. So, take your time when you’re creating your character.

In early access, the Guardian was portrayed with a touch of romance or desirability yet retaining its enigmatic nature. Upon the game’s complete release, the depiction of the Guardian becomes more neutral. Nevertheless, in both instances, the Guardian embodies the manifestation of a cryptic force within the game, communicating with your character.

And that’s everything you need to know about the Guardians in Baldur’s Gate 3. If you have questions or concerns, feel free to leave them in the commetns section below. We’d love to hear your thoughts.
