Sometimes when going through the many places in Baldur’s Gate 3, you’ll find a door that’s locked. Now, you know there’s loot behind that door, or more adventure. That’s why we drop everything we do, forget about our quest and try to open that door. In the Tollhouse in Act 1, there’s a secret room that you can enter but it needs a key. So how do you open that door?
In this guide, we’ll show you how to enter and open the secret room in that toll house. We’ll also show you alternative ways of opening it!
Toll House Basement Vault – How to Enter & Open Secret Room in Tollhouse
When you’re exploring the areas to the north of the map in Act 1, just after crashing the ship, you might find the Toll House. It’s connected to one of the companions in the game, which is also connected to another companion. I’m talking about Karlach of course, who you’ll see first south of the toll house.
Whatever you did with her or the inhabitants of the toll house, there’s a cellar in that building. In that cellar is a locked door that leads to more loot!
The key to the locked door is actually just south of the Toll house, you can use the images above and below as reference. The key is on a puddle of blood and is named “Toll Collector’s Key.” Once you got that, you can then go open the locked door!
An alternate way of doing this is to just bash the door open. You can actually attack doors in this game as long as you’re strong enough. Use either Karlach or Lae’zel with a two-handed weapon and just destroy the door! No need for some fancy locks and stuff!
