Sea Of Thieves: All Journal Locations for The Quest for Guybrush Tall Tale

During the “Guybrush Tall Tale” quest in Sea of Thieves, you have to find 5 Journals by Elaine. Finding these is the final step in getting ‘Escape from Mêlée Island’ commendation. And if you hate having to go around the island several times to find them, don’t worry.

We’ll show you the way to all of the journals on the island.

Guybrush Tall Tale Journals Locations

Do note that before you can read all the journals, you have to clear the fog on the island first. These journals were written and belong to Elaine who left them while escaping.

The first journal is the “Suspicious” journal placed behind Governor’s Mansion. From the streetlamp here, take the path to the left. Near a tall pine tree and some boulders is a journal left behind here.

The second journal is the “How Could I Forget” journal located inside the forest. From the entrance, when you see the first junction, turn right. Keep going and then cross the log to the other side. Keep following the shadow which appears at another junction.

Turn left at the junction and keep going. Past the remains of a campsite keep following the shadow’s path and then you’ll see another log to cross. After crossing, just go straight until you see a patch of yellow flowers.

Once you see the flowers, the shadow will appear, and you can follow it again. Go right when you see the dirt road again. It won’t be long before you find the journal on the left side of the road.

Similarly, it’s also near a tall tree and some rocks.

The “Shadows of the Past” journal is located on the side of Lookout Point. Up the stairs, then another stairs, then another stairs is where you can find the journal.

And then finally, the “Next to Nothing” journal is located near Stan’s Previously Owned Vessels. You can find it located near one of the wrecks of the smaller boat here.
