In Exoria: World’s End, there are lots of mechanics and stuff that you can do. With that said, it may get confusing for some beginners. Of course, I wouldn’t want you missing out on the wonders and world of this awesome game. In this guide, I will show you everything you will need to know in order to progress further into the game.

Complete Beginner’s Guide

Before we get into the guide, take note that the game is still on “testing”. With that said, some parts are still incomplete or in-progress. Moreover, some of the content is still yet to be added in the upcoming updates. Now, let’s jump right into the guide.

Here’s a table that you can use if you’re only interested in certain parts of the guide.

Character Creation

First and foremost, you’d want to create your character. You’ll be given a multitude of choices and ways to customize your character based on your preferences.

NOTE: You’ll notice that some of the choices doesn’t seem to change. In order to interact with them, you will need to put your game into a small window. Also, make sure the chat box is not in the way.

Race – compared to other options, this is much more important. It’s because Races give different passive and active abilities, though some are still to be added on the game.

Think about which Race fits your playstyle and build the most, which you can check in the Character Customization Menu. Here’s a list of the Races currently available in the game:

  • Sar
  • Alphein
  • Levin
  • Sogo
  • Okavian
  • Daemon
  • Alderian
  • Eska

Now, besides Race, here are options that are solely for cosmetic purposes only. These won’t take effect on your character’s build whatsoever.

  • Voice
  • Size
  • Skin Tone
  • Hair Color
  • Eyes
  • Hair 1
  • Hair 2
  • Detail 1
  • Detail 2
  • Whether you want to use Avatar Hair or not.

Once you’re done, simply click on “FINALIZE” to start the game.

How to Get Started & Quests

Once you’re done making your character, you’ll want to do Starter Quests. These are quests that will introduce you to the different mechanics that the game has to offer – like starter mobs, exploration, material gathering, crafting and such.

Here are the Starter Quests that you’ll want to do. I’ll take about them more in-detail further into the guide.

  • Woodcutting
  • Iron Ore Gathering
  • Bandit Slaying
  • Boar Meat Gathering

In order to take them, simply go around Portblue (Starter Town – Center of the Map) and talk to every NPC.

NOTE: Many of the quests currently don’t have the item that’s being asked for you to collect. That’s why I suggest just taking the quests above, and ignore the others for now.

Skills & Stats

Before we get into the Starter Quests in-detail, let’s talk about Skills and Stats first. You can Level up by doing Quests and fighting enemies in the game.

Levelling up gives you Skill Points. You can use these points to attribute and improve your build, which you can do by pressing “M” and opening the Skill Tree. Click twice on the attribute you want to obtain.

Stat Points can be obtained through the Skill Tree as shown in the image below. Here’s a list of all the Stat Points available in the game at the moment, as well their color in the Skill Tree:

  • StrengthRed: Weapon Damage Output
  • DexterityGreen: Stamina, Movement Speed and Attack Speed
  • IntelligenceBlue: Sol (Mana) and Sol Damage (Magic Damage)
  • VitalityPink/Purle: Health Points
  • FaithNot Avaliable ATM: Healing Output and Light Damage

How to Get & Equip Tools

Next, you’ll need tools to proceed on doing the Starter Quests. You can buy them from this NPC in the Portblue as shown in the image below. Here are the tools that you’ll need to buy from here:

  • Axe
  • Pickaxe
  • Sickle
  • Lantern

NOTE: If they’re sold-out, you’ll need to return after a while until she restocks. You will need them for the following quests.

Now that you have the Tools, you can equip them by pressing Tab. Then, open your Inventory and place the tool you want to use in your Primary Weapon hand/slot. After that, pressing Ctrl will equip your Tools/enable punching, etc.

How to Cut Wood

For the first starter quest, you will need to chop down Oak Trees and collect 12 Oak Logs. You can do this by equipping your Iron Axe and hitting the trees until they break. After that, you will have wood logs in your inventory.

The Oak Trees are located pretty much in Portblue and all over the starting areas. After you’re done getting the logs, return to the NPC where you got the quest from to complete it. You will then Level up after this.

How to Gather Iron Ore & Defeat Bandits

For the next starter quests, you’ll want to talk to this NPC to get the Bandit Slaying quest. It’s also efficient to do the Iron Mining and Bandit Slaying quests at the same time since the locations are close.

Make your way to the Bandit Village where you can defeat Bandits for the quest. From the NPC’s location, head straight and take a left when you can. You will then see Tents as shown in the image below. That’s when you’ll know you’re in the right location.

NOTE: On your way to the Bandit Village, you’ll come across some mobs. Make sure to not have any tools equipped since they aren’t effective in combat. You also can’t run or climb with a Pickaxe equipped, so only equip it when mining.

This will introduce you to the combat mechanics of the game. Get used to the combat system and take down as much Bandits as you can. It doesn’t really matter what variation you kill – may it be a Thief, Fighter, or a Spearman, it will take credit on the quest.

After defeating some Bandits, you’ll also notice that mobs occasionally drop Scrolls. You can use them to learn Skills. In order to do that, open your Inventory first.

After that, drag the scroll of your choice from your Inventory to the “G” button in the bottom right. Then, press “G” to learn the spell. Make sure to read the spell’s description before learning it to know which button to press and cast it.

Go inside the Bandit Village further and you’ll come across these Iron Ore nodes. Equip your Pickaxe and hit the nodes to mine them. Continue doing so until you get the required amount for both quests.

How to Get Boar Meat

On the way back from the How to Gather Iron Ore & Defeat Bandits quests, I suggest also heading straight and down the hill to collect Boar Meat for the last starter quest. Simply kill the Boar to get its meat.

Good job! Now, you’re done with the Starter Quests. Make your back to Portblue to complete the quests to get your rewards.

Memory Shards/Fragments

On your way back, you’ll come across your first Memory Shard which looks like the one on the image below. Make sure to interact with these shards or fragments whenever you come across them.

They will allow you to teleport between locations, like waypoints. Though keep in mind that you can teleport on ones you have activated/interacted with.

How to Sell Items

After doing all those quests, you’re probably stocked up with equipment. In order to sell items you don’t want to use, simply follow these steps:

  1. Open any shop.
  2. Open your Inventory.
  3. Drag the item you want to sell, from your inventory to the shop window.

What to Do After Starter Quests

Now that you’re done with the Starter Quests, you’ll want to make yourself stronger to progress further into the game. I suggest farming Bandits or Orcs for 5 Weapon Mastery for your weapon of choice, as well as Levelling up.

In order to reach the Orc Hideout, you’ll want to start from the “Bandit Slaying NPC”. From there, head straight then right. Afterwards, you’ll want to go left, right and then right once again where you’ll see wooden spikes into an opening.

Trainer Locations

Now that you have mastered your weapon of choice, you’ll want to get even stronger by taking a Class. This will mostly depend on your preference and weapon of choice. Moreover, each class has distinct abilities that you can use in fighting. You can select up to 3, with the first 2 slots being free.

Here’s a list of all the Classes that’s currently available in the game, as well as the corresponding weapon for each Class:

  • Knight (Sword)
  • Assassin (Dagger/Sword)
  • Lancer (Spear)
  • Berserker (Greatsword/Hammer)
  • Monk (Fist/Caestus)
  • Mage (Any Staff)
  • Destroyer (Greatsword/Hammer)

If you’re decided on which Classes to take, check this image below to see where each trainer is located:

What to Do Next

After you have leveled up, got some skills and a Class, you will want to farm Orcs until you reach Level 8. This is the most idea level when you can start farming Bosses to further progress into the game.

First Boss – Gorkil

Once you’re done grinding for the said pre-requisites, you can then take on your first boss of the game which is Gorkil. He is located on the deeper parts of the Orc Hideout. You can fight the boss with up to 3 teammates or friends.

The dungeon part of the hideout is pretty linear so just keep heading straight until you reach this area as shown in the image below. It’s pretty dark though so be careful and try not to fall down the pits. There’s also a Memory Fragment that you can activate near the boss area.

How to Craft & Other Mechanics

Lastly, we have Crafting, which is how you make stronger equipment and get access to better materials. You will need to use your tools and gather different materials and more-advanced variations of the materials like Ores, Wood and others like Cotton.

In case you have a hard time finding certain materials, that means you may need to use stations or progress into other areas of the game that you still haven’t explored.

As mentioned before, you can craft through the use of Stations located all over Portblue. I suggest checking them all out to discover what you may need or find useful depending on your quests, builds or in-general. Here’s the list of all the stations currently available in the game:

  • Alchemy
  • Blacksmithing (Furnace)
  • Blacksmithing (Anvil)
  • Carpentry (Saw Table)
  • Carpentry (Workbench)
  • Cooking
  • Weaving (Spinning Wheel)
  • Weaving (Loom)

There are also mechanics that are still TBA (To-be-announced) or under-development, which are:

  • Fishing
  • Gemcutting
  • Leatherworking
  • Survival Skills

That’s all you need to know as a beginner in Exoria: World’s End. Don’t worry, the adventure doesn’t end here. In fact, it’s just starting. Be on the lookout for more advanced guides to help you progress into the game even more. If you have questions or concerns, feel free to leave them in the comments section below.
