It’s always a good thing when you’re able to do what you want in games like Starfield, except for climbing mountains. The only thing that stops you in your tracks sometimes however, is the lack of resources. Not a surprise if you just started playing of course, so now the first order of business is to fill your pockets.

One of the many ways you can get resources in Starfield is by building an outpost. Here you can use machines like extractors that will do most of the heavy lifting for you. Check out the guide to get started on your own outpost today!

How to Build an Outpost Quick Guide

To create an outpost, you need to start with an Outpost Beacon. Find a suitable spot that where there’s plenty of Fauna, Flora, and Resources and go into scan mode.  Have the object hover over where you want to build to find out what resources will be available to you.

After placing down the outpost beacon, you’ll be taken to the build menu. Make sure that you have the necessary resources loaded on your ship’s cargo hold when building another structure.

Other requirements like power will be shown on the bottom right of your screen. If you lack these requirements, then they’ll be showcased in red.

Most of the time, power will be the one eating up your outpost so be sure to always have Power Sources nearby. Your first option for power will be the Solar Array, place them close enough to your resource extractor to start getting your first set of resources.

Here we have Alexis, he's been gaming ever since the second Famicom came out. Which is probably the reason why he goes back to platformers every now and then. Somewhere down the line he started getting more and more fascinated about looking at maps change colors for three to eight hours straight. If he's not out strategizing and beating the life out of his space bar in that order there's a good chance you can find him playing an FPS or talking someone's ear out about how game balance gets in the way of realism. You can tell that he really likes getting the full experience of whatever he gets his hands on.
