Starfield – How To Use Jetpack

Ready to explore over a 1000 different planets? There’s a tool you absolutely need.

In Starfield, there are many ways to traverse the world, but one of the most efficient ones is by using the jetpack! The game doesn’t do quite a decent job of introducing players to this mechanic, but that’s where I come in! What follows is a guide on how to use the jetpack in Starfield!

How To Use A Jetpack – Starfield

First of all, you need to reach level 2 in the game.

Go over your certifications (skills), level up the boost pack training in the tech skill tree. It requires 1 skill point. To use a jetpack you need to unlock rank 1

What Is A Boost Pack?

A boost pack is basically what allows you to double jump. By default, players will get an oxygen tank with no “Jetpack-capabilities”.

As soon as you equip a boost pack, you’ll be able to use the jetpack and double-jump.

How To Get A Boost Pack?

Just by playing the story, as a reward of the main questline

For now keep the level 1 rank, it’s all you need. If you like gliding around, you can always upgrade it in the future using your skills points.

Now open up the inventory and go to the category packs. You might have different packs, but be careful to choose the one with the basic boost pack (or it won’t work). To make sure you are using the correct one, look on the right side, below mass and value you should see “basic boost pack”. Now equip it and exit.

Now when you jump, while you’re mid-air you can jump one more time pressing the same button. It’s more like a boost on your jump or a very short glide. You won’t be able to glide for long or anything like that (with rank 1).

You can now explore new places, glide over obstacles, and cover larger distances
