Sea of Stars is a game that is inspired by the classic RPGs of back then and it shows from their style. They’ve bought back all those cool mechanics of old RPGs that we love, but also some that I personally would have wanted to stay dead. One of which are locked doors that need an entire quest line and a half to open, like the one in Repine.
In this guide, we’ll show you how to open the Locked Door in Repine, so get ready since there’s going to be a lot of walking. It’s never that easy to open one single door in these games!
How To Get Cypher | Open Locked Door In Repine
To open the Locked Door in Repine, you’ll need to get 4 Data Strips that are hidden in certain places in the map. Most of these Data strips are easy to get and only require you to go to a place and find it.
One of the Data Strips though is a bit more difficult to get than the others. Let’s see where these Data Strips are.
Getting The Data Strips
The first Data Strip is in the Cerulean Island in Repine. Once you enter the area, go up and then right. Then, go to the alleyway left of the staircase that goes up. There, you’ll find a way to a chest that has the first Data Strip.
The second Data Strip is also in the Cerulean Island in the Cerulean Reservoir. Just go up until you reach the water area then go left. Then, jump into the water and go the top of the area where there’s another chest. Inside is the second Data Strip.
For the Third Data Strip, you’ll need to go to the Speedball Network Station. This one is really close to the entrance, just go up and then left. There, in a corner, you’ll see a chest that has the third Data Strip.
Data Strip 4
As you can see, the fourth Data Strip has its own section, which means it’s not as easy as the previous ones. For this Data Strip, you’ll need to go through the Fleshmancer’s Lair and do the puzzles there.
From the entrance go up and left. There, you’ll find a blue button you can press. This will spawn enemies and a pillar, clear the enemies to continue.
Once the enemies have been cleared, you’ll need to push the pillars in the right way to solve the puzzle. For this pillar, follow the path shown below and it should slide to the right side of the room.
Once on the right side of the room, you’ll want to go follow the path shown below. We’ll need this red pillar to be on the red platform.
Once you get the red pillar on the right platform, monsters will spawn. You’ll then need to clear them before moving forward. Once you do clear them, go to the upper right and step on the blue button shown below.
This will spawn in a grapple point. Now, go to the center of the room then up and then right to get to the grapple point. Use that to go to the ladder shown below. Go up the ladder and then right to get to the next pillar. Push the pillar down to continue.
Once you’ve pushed that pillar down, we’ll need to do the same thing as the previous one. This pillar has green rock on it, so we’ll want to put it on the green platform. Use the method below as a reference to solve this puzzle.
Once the big red eye shoots a laser you just moved, go to the left side of the room. There, you’ll see a new set of ladders you can go up to and go to the next pillar. Same as the previous ones just push it down.
The last pillar is easy to set up. Once it falls down, just use the path shown below. I wish the other pillars were this easy!
With all the pillars in the right place, the door to the second area will open up. Go through the big mouth door and you’ll see another set of puzzles. Don’t worry, this time, it’s a bit shorter than the last one.
Go to the left side of the room where there’s a bunch of enemies. Clear them and kick the eyeball on the upper left down. The eyeball can destroy the white pointy rocks, so don’t worry about it hitting them. Get the eyeball to follow the path shown below, so it’ll land on a button.
Once you’ve placed the eyeball on the button, another eyeball will be unlocked. Kick around that eyeball and follow the path shown below. This will just send the eyeball to another button.
Now that the second eyeball has been placed, get back to the first eyeball. Kick it off the button and follow the path shown below.
After going through the white stone spikes with the eyeball, you can then access a chest there. Open it and it’ll have the last Data Strip!
Making The Cypher
Now that you have all the Data Strips, go to Serai’s house in Repine by going to Cerulean Island and heading to the top-most house.
There, you can use Cedric just left of the entrance to print the Cypher. With the Cypher finally in your hands, you can go to the locked door and open it using that item!
