Gold is another rare resource in Starfield that players sometimes struggle to find. So this time, we’re going to show you how you can find gold on planets. And if you have never seen it, what these resources would look like on the planet. We’ll also share some planets that have been confirmed to have gold that you can mine on them.
Where to Find Gold
If you’ve played Starfield for a while, you’re realize that many of the resources are indicated by their Latin or Chemical name.
So, iron will have Fe for Ferrum, Silver has Ag for Argentum, and Cu for Copper. For gold, it’s Au for Aurum. With this information, always make note of the symbol Au on resource deposits if you’re looking for gold.
Gold is considerably scarcer compared to resources like Copper, which can be efficiently extracted using large Extractors. You cannot automate gold as far as the community knows, you have to work hard to mine them by cutting through deposits of gold.
Currently, there are two planets where you can find gold deposits not far from Alpha Centauri. The first one is in the system of Narion, on the planet on Cruth. Mostly uninhabited, this icy planet has only several resources, including gold. Use your scanner to identify gold and use the cutter to get them.
Another planet is the Guniibuu II, still close from Alpha Centauri and Narion, in the system of Guniibuu.
You can find a lot of gold particularly around Copper area, roughly surrounding the landing area as shown below. This place is also rich in Copper and Iron if you’re looking for those resources as well!
Several other planets and moons that have a good amount of gold are:
- Stellis A and Kalira in Cheyenne System
- Porrima V-b and Porrima V-c in Porrima system
- Charybdis IV and Charybdis V in Charybdis system
Additionally, if you’re not in the mood to spend time wandering aimlessly to find gold, there are NPCs who sell them. Jemison Mercantile is on Jemison planet, in New Atlantis area. The Mining League on Volii Alpha in Neon also has gold in their catalogue it. Or from the Midtown Minerals in Akila City.
