There are a lot of different items that you can find in Starfield and even a lot more clutter in the game. In fact, there is so many items in the game you might get lost trying to find one of them. If you’re in need of Chasmbass Oil, then the best way to get them is through a vendor.
The question is, which one should you go to? There are dozens of vendors in the game scattered all over the different planets! In this guide, we’ll show you where to find Chasmbass Oil in the game.
How to Get Chasmbass Oil
So, where can you find this Chasmbass Oil in the game? First, you’ll need to head over to the Volii system which is southeast of the Olympus System. Both of these systems are to the right of the Alpha Centauri system in the game. You can use the image below as a reference.
Once you’re in the Volii system, you’ll need to find Volii Alpha which is the planet shown on the image below. It’s the second planet from the system’s star.
There, you’ll find Neon City where you can land and head over to the Trade Authority. This sprawling city has big signs for everything including the Trade Authority. Just look for the large yellow sign and go through the door below it. You can see it on the image below.
From there, you can buy Chasmbass Oil for around 360 credits, depending on your skills. Now, you can buy as much as you want here.
NOTE: If the vendor runs out of stock you can always sit somewhere and wait for 24 hours for the stock to refresh.
Another way to get Chasmbass Oil is from Chasmbass themselves. To do this, you’ll need to travel to Neon (not Neon Core) and drop to the water below the landing area. From there, you can use the Scanner to look for Chasmbass.
You can’t really shoot your weapon in the water since Bethesda forgot how attacking in water works. They had it in Oblivion but now it’s a lost art. Anyway, you can stand on the fish and jump up and shoot them to kill them. You can then loot Chasmbass Oil from them!
