Starfield: How to Find the Scorpion Sting in the Unity Mission

Be careful, you don’t want to get stung!

There are so many quests in Starfield and explorers are still stumbling upon new quests and locations in the game. Some of the objectives for the various can sometimes be confusing and it isn’t always clear how to progress it. One of these is the Find the Scorpion Sting objective in the Unity mission.

In this guide, we will show you how you can ‘find’ the Scorpion Sting in the Unity Mission. This objective is pretty straightforward to accomplish. The confusion usually occurs with how the objective is presented since it is supposed to be a puzzle. Let’s dive in and see how you can accomplish it.

How to Find the Scorpion Sting in the Unity Mission

When you get the objective of Finding the Scorpion Sting on Hyla II, you will find a strange circular structure with lights in it.

There will be a light emerging from the top, and a strange constellation shining on the ground. It is basically a puzzle part of the Unity Mission.

To understand the puzzle, you will need to think of the constellation of stars as a Scorpion. The three pronged side represents the head of the Scorpion while the other end is the ‘tail’. Above the tail, you will see a ball of light shining.

So, you simply have to control the light coming from above and point it towards the shining ball. This will allow you to, metaphorically, ‘find’ the scorpion sting. However, the issue that arises is controlling the light and pointing it to the ball.

Look for a glyph nearby that is at the front of this puzzle. It is a strange circular symbol, with 4 circles on either side of it.

You can ‘Activate’ when you approach it. The game doesn’t really tell you what it means, and you’re supposed to figure it out yourself.

Basically, the glyph allows you to control the light.

  • If you Activate it by looking at the circles on the left and right side, it moves the light to the left and right.
  • If you do the same while looking at the top and bottom of the circle, you can move the light away from and towards you.

So, you need to use the glyph to align the ray of light exactly with the ball above the Scorpion’s Sting.

When the light is in its default position, you can simply move it Left thrice by pressing the left circle on the glyph. After that, move it once downwards and the light should align with the Scorpion Sting.

Congratulations! You just managed to find the Scorpion Sting. Now, you can proceed with the rest of the quest after the puzzle reveals its secrets to you.

That’s all you need to know about finding the Scorpion Sting. It is a pretty straightforward puzzle once you figure out what everything in it represents. Once you’ve finished the objective, you will have to locate the star in the constellation represented by the symbol on the ground.
