Grounded has seen a new update with the 1.3 Update. This Update has added new content to the game alongside plenty of changes made to the existing content. It has breathed new life to the game while adding changes that have been requested by the community. A bunch of quality-of-life changes have even been added that make the game just better to play.

The new content also includes 6 new Trinkets that allow you to change up your playstyle. In this guide, we will look at all the 6 new Trinkets that have been added to the game. We will also show you how you can get these Trinkets so that you can try them out for yourself. Some of them can be incredibly useful so we highly suggest you use them. Let’s dive in and see what these trinkets are.

All 6 New Trinkets

There are 6 New Trinkets that you as a player can use. One of these new Trinkets is actually a rework of an existing Trinket, changing it up quite a bit. Additionally, 3 of these Trinkets are craftable by the player while the remaining 2 are Stolen Trinkets you get a particular.

All of these Trinkets are part of the new Grounded 1.3 Update. Consider checking out this guide which shows Everything New in Survival.

Nifty Needle (Craftable Trinket)

The first Craftable Trinket is the Nifty Needle. When you craft this recipe, you can equip the Nifty Needle into your Trinkets section. This Trinket provides the following buff:

  • +Charged Shot Damage: Fully Charged Bow Shots Deal More Damage.

This is a very specific type of Trinket that is only suitable for players who main bow and arrow. Otherwise, its effect won’t be felt much.

You can get the recipe for this Trinket by first approaching a Thistle Plant anywhere on the map. On this plant, look for the Thistle Needles. You can actually pick up these needles directly without harvesting the plant with a tool.

After that, take the Thistle Needle to the Resource Analyzer. Scanning the Thistle Needle will unlock a variety of recipes, including the Nifty Needle Recipe.

Sturdy Shell (Craftable Trinket)

The second Craftable Trinket is the Sturdy Shell Armor. You will need to unlock the recipe first by scanning the appropriate materials. After that, you will be able to craft it. This Trinket provides the following buff:

  • Major Threat: Increases enemies desire to attack you over others while in combat.
  • Friendly Fire Defense Up: Reduces the amount of friendly fire damage you receive from fellow teens.

This Trinket is pretty much useless if you are playing Solo. If you are playing with friends, it is only suitable if you plan to play as a Tank to bait enemies, while your other friends attack them. Unless, of course, you have really bad friends that are always trying to kill you!

You can unlock this Recipe by busting open an Acorn. After that, nab an Acorn Shell as this is the main component for the Sturdy Shell armor.

After that, take the Acorn Shell to a Resource Analyzer and scan it. This will unlock the Sturdy Shell recipe among various other pre-existing recipes.

Astonishing Acid (Craftable Trinket)

The final Craftable Trinket is Astonishing Acid. This Trinket is probably the better of the three new Craftable Trinkets that has been added as part of the new update. This is mainly because this Trinket provides the following buff:

  • +Combo Finisher Damage: The final hit in your three hit combo does more damage.

When you are using your weapons, you typically do a combo of three attacks. So, there is a slight amount of damage added to this final attack. This additional damage is barely noticeable but it does apply to all weapons.

You can also get this Trinket quite early, making it great for that stage of the game.

Getting this Recipe is a bit more challenging and expensive than the other ones. You will basically need to get an Acid Gland, which is obtainable from a Larva or Soldier Ant.

After that, take the Acid Gland to a Resource Analyzer. Scanning it will unlock the Astonishing Acid Recipe, ready for you to craft it.

Fluffy Dandelion Tuft (Trinket Rework)

There has been a major change to Dandelion Tufts with the new update. Now you are able to get 3x more Dandelion Tufts after breaking down a Dead Dandelion Flower. Additionally, when you collect these Dandelion Tufts, they stack when you pick them up.

These normal Dandelion Tufts are not Trinkets, but rather consumables. When you jump and press the glide button, you will start a particular amount. After you land, the Dandelion Tufts in your stack will be reduced by 1.

However, there is a Trinket that you can use in the form of the Fluffy Dandelion Tufts. As you break down Dandelion Flowers, there is a rare chance for you to get them. Usually, you should be able to find one after a few flowers.

These are Trinkets that you can equip. They allow you to Glide just like you do with normal Dandelion Tufts. However, they allow you to glide an infinite amount of times, removing the need for you to harvest more Tufts. Very convenient if you are someone who uses the gliding mechanic a lot.

However, there is a tradeoff. When you use the Fluffy Dandelion Tuft, you are basically using up the Trinket Slot. On the other hand, if you use normal Dandelion Tufts, you can use the Trinket Slots for something else. The choice is yours.

Giddy Goop (Stolen Trinket)

The Giddy Goop Trinket is the first of the Stolen Trinkets that have been added with the update. This Trinket is a little difficult to get since you will need to steal them from Fireflies. And if you are familiar with Fireflies, they can be annoying to deal with since they fly.

Before you try to get this Trinket, we highly recommend that you have Rascal Rogue alongside Sticky Fingers. This will allow you to steal the Trinket off the Fireflies. After that, you need to locate some Fireflies on the map.

You will likely need to fight quite a few Fireflies. This is because you only have a chance to get the Giddy Goop Trinket off of them. Since you can only steal two items, it is more than possible that you do not get it.

However, keep grinding and eventually you will be able to get it. The Giddy Goop. The Giddy Goop Trinket provides the following buff:

  • Combo Finish Goo Spray: The final hit in your 3 hit combo releases a spray of slowing goo.

The effects from the slowing goo is extremely useful. It not only slows down the enemy, but also reduces their damage. Additionally, it also allows you to do a little additional damage. In essence, you are getting multiple effects with one buff.

We highly recommend using this Trinket when you are fighting the Infected Brood Mother.

Unstable Capacitor (Stolen Trinket)

The Final Stolen Trinket is the Unstable Capacitor and it has a few requirements you need to fulfill. This includes getting some ORC Receivers, which you can get after beating the Mant Boss and unlocking Dr. Wendell Tully.

ORC Receiver in Grounded.

After that, you will need to locate a Waft Emitter. Interact with the Waft Emitter and put the ORC Receiver inside it. Doing so will start the Ominent Raid where ORC Bugs and Robots will start attacking you.

During this Raid, you will come into contact with plenty of TAYZ.T enemies. You want to turn your focus towards them as there is a 5% chance for the Unstable Capacitor to drop from them. We highly recommend using the Dissection Expert Mutation when fighting these enemies.

While it is not confirmed this Mutation will work, it is better to have to increase your chances of dropping the Unstable Capacitor.

The Unstable Capacitor is very powerful and probably the best of all the Trinkets added to the game. This is because this Trinket has a chance for your attacks to set off an Electric Attack, damaging all nearby enemies.

Just be careful using it near teammates in multiplayer, as it will likely cause some friendly fire damage.

Web Clippers (Playground Only)

A special mention also goes to the Web Clippers that are only available in Playground Mode. It is possible that this Trinket may be added to Survival in the future, but for now that does not seem to be the case. They are useful for farming web-related objects because of the following buff:

  • +Web Damage: Doubles your damage against all web-based Harvestables, including Spider Web and Web Sacs.

That’s everything that you need to know about the 6 new Trinkets that have been added to the game. We have also mentioned a reworked Trinket alongside a Playground only Trinket, to ensure that all the content related to this subject has been covered for the new update. We highly recommend you check out the other content, as there is much more included in Grounded 1.3.
